Subaru Legacy 2005 TiresSubaru Legacy 2005 Tires Review #10104400 SUBARU LEGACY 2005 car safety problem was reported on Dec 19, 2004.SUBARU LEGACY 2005, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with TIRES . vehicle: 05 subaru gt limited sedan (purchased) 11/30/04) tire: bridgestone, potenza re92 (215/45 zr17. my wife and i skidded as we approached a stop sign on a level, snow covered road. i broke gradually and my speed was low, about 10 mph as i started braking). instead of stopping, the car just kept going even though i applied more brake pressure. if there had been a car ahead of us, i would have rearended it. i discovered very negative reviews of this tire on the folllowing 2 customer survey bases: tirerack.com and 1010tires.com. the majority of customers rated this tire as poor for wet traction and very poor (dangerous was used in some reviews) for snow traction. i have case #s w/soa & bridgestone. they and the dealer have refused my request to credit my oe tires for new ones. many customers (ave of 2.6 out of 10) answered no when asked would you buy this tire again. i am very concerned that there is a safety issue with the re92 for wet traction, especially snow traction. considering that subaru awd vehicles built a reputation as a car that will be sure-footed in inclement weather, why would soa equip this car w/tires having a 160 tread rating? tire dealers i've spoken to about this issue say that this tire is the equivalent of a summer tire. soa should rephrase their slogan for cars w/re92s to: from the wheel that slips to the tire that slips.*ak .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 400 miles. Subaru Legacy 2005 Electrical SystemSubaru Legacy 2005 Electrical System Review #10135374 SUBARU LEGACY 2005 car safety problem was reported on July 16, 2005.SUBARU LEGACY 2005, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . with approximately 2,000 miles on my brand new subaru legacy gt i was driving 80 miles to my home. the lights on my dash were flickering and the cruise control worked, then stopped working when i would try to decrease or increase my speed. once i got into the canyon about 20 miles from home (a curvy road next to the colorado river) all my interior and exterior lights went off suddenly. i maneuvered my way to the side of the road, shut the car off then turned it back on. thankfully, the lights came back on. i took the car into the subaru dealership and they didn't find anything. they said they couldn't fix it until the problem was duplicated. my main concern with this statement is that if i crash my car and injure myself or kill myself because the lights went out, it will be fairly difficult for anyone to "duplicate" the problem. second issue happened about a month later when the cruise control light began flashing and the check engine light came on. i took it to the subaru dealership and they discovered a valve body problem. meanwhile a day later i was driving and the car would barely move. it felt as if it were stuck in 3rd gear. i took it back in and drove a rental car until the part came in. i have the car back now with the 2nd and 3rd problem fixed, but with still no resolution to the fact that my lights could again shut off while i am driving at night. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 2000 miles. Subaru Legacy 2005 Engine And Engine Cooling EngineSubaru Legacy 2005 Engine And Engine Cooling Engine Review #10294520 SUBARU LEGACY 2005 car safety problem was reported on Nov 28, 2009.SUBARU LEGACY 2005, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE . the turbo in my 2005 subaru legacy gt split in half when i was driving home from work. it made a squealing noise, with no warning lights prior to the turbo going, however exactly when it happened the check engine light came on with the cruise light blinking. i was told by a certified subaru technician that the turbos in these cars do not just split in half and rarely have problems. however, i was told about the banjo bolt oil filter located under the turbo, unseeable when getting a routine oil change, however this filter needs to be cleaned otherwise it clogs and starves the turbo of any oil. i was never aware when purchasing this car of that problem, and nowhere in my vehicles manual does it say anything about the banjo bolt oil filter and how it needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. the turbo in my car is the only part that needs to be replaced, however finding a turbo for the 05 legacy gt is pretty expensive, and the used turbos are even harder to locate than any of the other 05 subaru models. i am currently still without a car and i believe the turbos in the 05 legacy gt's are defective due to the banjo bolt oil filter clogging excessively. *tr.Mileage was 104000 miles. I test drove a 2011 Subaru Outback yesterday at night in a very dark area with the headlights on. I could only see out of the bottom third of the windshield. The top two thirds of the windshield looked as if a black curtain had dropped down over i I notice if I quickly accelerate/go into overdrive - front of car will hum. Do I need to have something checked out? 2004 forester xt, strong gas smell in the cold weather when the heat is on. They won't fix it because they "can't find it" at my dealership. Do I need a new fuel line or is there an easier fix? Thank you for these, can find a decent review now. My 1998 subaru forester stutters/hiccups/bucks (whatever you call it) when going uphill, and when accelerating on a straight path, can it be the transmission? I HAVE A SUBARU FORESTER 2000 TAIL LIGHT/PLATE LIGHT/'FRONT SIGNAL LIGHT STAYS ON.ONCE FUSE IS REMOVED LIGHT GOES OUT.WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE? I own a 2008 Subaru impreza, till last week i was fine, but now it is having some problem i.e it is making whining sound from  steering pump, will i have to replace the steering pump and hoe much will it cost. Standard on all Impreza models are anti lock disc brakes, stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints to help mitigate crash-induced whiplash 2006 Subaru outback died. Will not tke a boost. With battery cable connected there is an error code in the odometer. Does anybody know what this can be? 2007 Forester bangs into gear-been doing this mainly in cold weather but now all the time. Dealer always says not problem-it has to "warm up" and doesnt want ot deal with it. My 2002 Impreza Outback Sport's check engine light comes on when I'm going downhill, not all the time. Also (not all the time), if I don't downshift when coming to a stop, the car dies, not stalls, dies. It starts right back up. The engine l i just wrecked my 04 wrx front impact and no air bag and seat belt locked after the impact...how do i contact some one to have this investigated?
