Lexus Es 330 2004 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10060647 LEXUS ES 330 2004 car safety problem was reported on Feb 04, 2004.LEXUS ES 330 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . i have a 2004 es330 which has a significant shifting problem in low gears. i have taken the car back to the dealership twice already and am ready for the third visit. the dealer "reset" the memory for the shifting pattern at 200 miles because of unpredictable driving patterns. the transmission does not always shift poorly, about 25% of the time there is a problem. there seems to be a hesitation during the shifting which causes a lack of power. i have noticed this while merging onto highway traffic, and it is very dangerous. i have contacted the lexus customer service and they were of no help, only to tell me that other customers were experiencing the same problems with their transmissions. if i do not get satisfaction from the third visit i will get a "lemon law" hearing and hope for the best. i am very disappointed in the lexus/toyota response to this obvious engineering blunder. where is the quality that they are known for?.Mileage was 20 miles. (this has been described as a "delay/hesitation in shifting," or that the transmission is "searching for a gear.") the transmission did not shift up or down smoothly. i brought the vehicle in. the service tech acknowledged the problem. i was then asked to bring the vehicle in and leave it for a few days. not hearing back from anyone, i called and was informed that they had been unable to fix the problem. a few days later, i was told to pick up the car. i spoke with keith hollis. he informed me that lexus drove the vehicle and speculated the cause was the gas. i was told that i needed to "run through a few tanks of gas." when i went to pick up the vehicle, i was reading the service ticket and saw a statement on the ticket that: "no fault found." despite this, the ticket was inaccurate. work was done on the vehicle, including resetting the memory, replacement of a filter and new gas. i then spoke with mr. pernell, service manager. he conceded that the service ticket was inaccurate. he told me that he was looking into the issue. he called me back and said the lexus engineers were aware of this problem and it was a software problem. the vehicle is defective. i have now driven 2-3 of these cars, and the symptoms are consistent. i contacted lexus. they stated that the problem was a "characteristic" of the car, and that there "was nothing wrong with the car." lexus knows the car's transmission is defective, but the fix is too costly. so, consumers are going to be stonewalled. the nhtsa should immediately recall all lexus vehicles with the 330 engine mated to this new 5 speed transmission before someone is injured/killed. if you or anyone else has any questions, please feel free to call me at 713/781-6815. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 20 miles. Lexus Es 330 2004 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10142992 LEXUS ES 330 2004 car safety problem was reported on Nov 03, 2005.LEXUS ES 330 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . we have a 2004 lexus es330 with 22,000 miles. we have been having problems with hesitation, hard shifts and missed gears for the last 10,000 miles. the dealer replaced the computer module at 16,000 miles and the car is a little better but not much. i took it back in for the problem at 21,000 miles and the dealer acknowledged that there was a problem with the car, but they did not know how to fix it. the dealer told me that lexus told them that they were having trouble with a number of the es cars after the module was changed but they did not know how to tell the dealer to fix it. i have spoken with lexus and their representative again acknowledged that there was a problem with the shifting in the es. although both the dealership and the manufacturer have both admitted that there is a problem i have been unable to get them to even attempt to do anything about it. we have had this problem for over 1/3 of the time that we have had the car and now i have to wait 2 more weeks for a lexus rep to come into town to "talk to me". the lexus people told me they were going to look into my complaints and call me back in a couple of days and 10 days later i still had not heard from them. not only do i find the problem very annoying i am very concerned that the hesitation problem could lead to an accident, and i am quite sure that the erratic shifting will lead to premature transmission failure. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 12000 miles. Lexus Es 330 2004 Service Brakes, HydraulicLexus Es 330 2004 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10261933 LEXUS ES 330 2004 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 2009.LEXUS ES 330 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . my lexus es330 2004 has about 17k miles on it, and i have noticed several indications where i try and brake and it feels like the brakes will not fully engage, or that the ebs braking system is engaged, when i do not believe it should be engaged. this has happened mostly in the winter or fall months when the road was dry and the air was dry. it has taken me way to long to brake and come to a proper stop. it has occurred about 10 times. i do not drive very much as you can note from the mileage. a few times it occurred when the road was wet, and felt like the brakes actually locked up and then released and then went into the ebs mode. if i drive aggressively, and want to stop quickly, this can occur on dry pavement, in situations where the car is clearly not acting in a manor that it should. i have not been in an accident. i have brought the car to lexus and they say that there is no recall or reported problems etc. it is a problem that i suspect would be difficult to test. i have had several high performance cars before, such as a porsche 944 and a mercedes and never ever experienced this before. i do not want to sell the car to an unsuspecting purchaser, and thus i want it resolved. if i am driving aggressively, and go to stop, at time it is as if the car assumes that the ebs system will be necessary given the speed, but it should not be. also, a few times when this occurred, the back brakes seemed to lock and i felt my back end fish tail. i got out of the problem by releasing the brake and hitting it quickly twice. it really is disturbing that i drive a car that i simply do not trust to stop appropriately. even at a relatively slow speed, if i hit the brakes hard, the car continues to travel engaging the abs (that what it is not ebs0 braking system when really it should not be doing so given the speed and weather conditions. i will put 1/12009 for incident date, but i have not had an accident. *tr.Mileage was 17000 miles. Lexus Es 330 2004 Air BagsLexus Es 330 2004 Air Bags Review #10628408 LEXUS ES 330 2004 car safety problem was reported on July 23, 2014.LEXUS ES 330 2004, manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation had a problem with AIR BAGS . while the car was garaged overnight, the passenger side airbag in the dashboard cracked and is now partially exposed. i called lexus and they asked me to take the car in to my local lexus dealership. i did. while they reviewed the issue, they also completed service on a recall of the passenger side seat belt. i was then told that the airbag was not covered under warranty, but they would submit a claim to lexus. the claim was denied. they said, the warranty is six years/70,000 miles. while the car is under 70,000 miles the car is ten years old. the charge to fix the cracked airbag is $3500.00 my argument to them was: 1. the airbag is not a "wear and tear" item. the airbag is a safety item that should last the lifetime of the car. 2. lexus fixed the other safety item a seat belt, so they should fix the airbag. 3. lexus could not guarantee that the airbag would function properly. i informed them that i had two teenagers who are driving and asked: a. will the airbag deploy properly if the car is in an accident? b. will the airbag deploy unexpectedly while driving? lexus could not answer the questions to my satisfaction. i do believe this is a design flaw in the es 330 that could potentially harm the driver and passengers. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 66500 miles. Seems that 2006 2007 IS250 & IS350 owners would rather talk to each other about problems with the drivers knee airbag harness. I've been told by a Lexus service manager that both airbags and seatbelts are disabled when the "airbag light" is i windshield casing on drivers side has pulled away from frame causing air noises. Do alot of 2010's have this issue? I have a steering column that squeaks when I turn my '01 Lexus RX-300. All of this stuff is starting to make. My husband was driving a 2001 lexus gs 1999 Lexus RX300.....Passenger seat belt light keep blinking when somebody seat on the front.Thank you for your help. 93 gs300, out of the blue,, car died, towed home, started ran fine, 5 min. later dies. got to run again, 7 min dies. noticed with key on all the injectors are clicking irratically, then while trouble shooting,, everything, comes to a stop, when recently, on my 1992 SC400, a loud beep apparantly coming from the right door speaker comes immediately after starting the car.
