MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 15, 2007.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with TIRES . i was driving down highway 50 in sacramento, california, in a 2007 c230 mercedes benz, when i ran over an object. the right rear tire immediately went flat. i drove to a tire facility and had the tire exchanged for the spare. the tire facility suggested i take the car to mercedes benz. on the way to mercedes benz i stopped at an automobile repair shop and had the tire and rim inspected. the middle of the rim was cracked and ruptured. the shop owner stated he had been in the auto repair business for 30 years and had never seen a rim failure of that type. *ak i took the vehicle to mercedes benz sacramento and the serviceman told me tires and rims were not covered under warranty. he did not even bother to take the tire out of the trunk. i said i wished to speak to the service manager. he informed me the service manager wasn't in. i said i would make an appointment to see the service manager - that i had concerns about the rim failure. when i met with the service manager, i voiced my concerns regarding the rim. the service manager called me later in the afternoon and stated the damage would be at my cost and wasn't covered under warranty. i inquired why this wasn't covered under warranty because i was only 4 months into the lease of this new car. the answer was tires and rims are not covered under warranty under any circumstance's left a voice mail message for general manager of mercedes benz sacramento to call me regarding this rim failure and my concerns. he called me back and defended the service technician and service manager's decisions to give the stock answer it was not covered under warranty. i pointed out to the general manager that my concern was the rim had ruptured and cracked and that this was a new vehicle. i felt my concerns were being ignored by the service department. mr. crowley did not seem to be of the same opinion. the tire and rim were being replaced at a facility other than mercedes benz. *ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 3100 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on July 02, 2007.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with AIR BAGS . i was driving my three month old 07 mercedes benz c230 sport sedan. i had 1 passenger with me and i entered the intersection in the#1 lane and i felt an impact to the driver door as the airbag deployed. i steered the steering wheel to the right , causing the rear driver's side to fishtail in the island. as i went across the lanes i steered to the left to avoid the front end. my passenger rear tire hit the curb. as i exited the vehicle i noticed there were no other vehicles around and nothing in the roadway. the car had no damage, just scratches to the body. both rear rims had damage from the fishtail effect. i immediately called mercedes benz about the airbags malfunctioning. mercedes sent a representative, who determined me that i must have ran over something in the road, causing the driver's side rear tire to lock, which resulted in loss of control over the vehicle. it hit the curb, causing the airbag to deploy. i went out to the dealership to take a look underneath the vehicle. i observed no damage underneath. the only damage was to the inside rear driver side tire which had a light scratch mark which should have been a dent. they stated it was my problem, and they did not see anything wrong with the airbag. i contacted mercedes benz collision center about airbag deployment. mechanic stated the sensor from the drivers side was in the door and should have gone off if something hit the right point. i contacted mercedes benz corporation asking to speak to the representativ e who came out with the decision, they denied my request. i informed mercedes benz that maybe there was no a defect in other mercedes benz vehicles, but there was one with mine. i told them that i am a police officer and luckily i knew how to manuever a car in that type of situation because of all the training i have had. i told them if it was somebody else the car would have been totaled and someone could have died. they told me pound sand, well not in those exact words.*ak.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 2800 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 28, 2008.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW . i was on the freeway driving to work with a co-worker when the passenger side airbag in my 2007 c230 deployed. there was not a collision or contact with my vehicle at all. the bag on the passenger side arm rest struck my passenger right arm quite violently causing her pain for 4 days and the drivers side airbag constricted and put a 4 inch cut on my neck. when i took my vehicle to mercedes of laguna niguel where i purchased the vehicle new only 2 months ago they refused to repair the airbags sitting small scratches on both passenger side rims and their claim of the tires bubbling and proof the vehicle was in a collision. however 10 days previously i had accidentally scraped the vehicles rims while parking. i can assure you this vehicle was in excellent condition when i went in for repairs to the airbags and the events i have described are exactly as they occurred. the dealership asked me to contact my insurance company, which i did, however i relayed the same information to them as i am relaying to you. i am outraged at the dealership and feel they should repair the faulty airbags on this vehicle. please advise. *tr.2 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 2543 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 03, 2009.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN . my 2007 c230 automatic sport sedan that i purchased pre-owned and certified from an authorized mb dealer in 2009 has been experiencing problems since purchase. i have experienced extreme loss of acceleration and running at a high rpm. it first occurred a few weeks after i purchased the vehicle. i was entering a parking garage with a steep hill and as i drove up hill, the car struggled to accelerate while the rmp ran high. i feared the vehicle was about to roll backward and i quickly applied the brakes, placed the car in park with my foot still on the brake. i turned it off and restarted and was able to continue into the garage. i took the car to mb service and after they tried to say it was nothing without reviewing the vehicle, they finally agreed to do a diagnosis. i was advised they found a faulty sensor and it was repaired. several weeks later, it happened again while in the parking lot of my residential building as i attempted to back into my parking space. the vehicle did not accelerate and the rmp ran high. turning it and restarting again remedied the problem. the third and forth time it occurred on the high way during my normal commute to and from work. the issue re-appeared in busy traffic. the vehicle would not accelerate and the rpm ran high. each time it has occurred, i have had to pull over, turn the car off, let it sit, then when i restarted the vehicle, it was fine and i drove off without any problem. i have done some research on line and have found that there are numerous complaints regarding the 2006 2007 c230's with the same or similar problem described and it appears to be with the transmission. there is clearly a defect going on and i would like to request a recall investigation through the nhtsa. updated 11/01/11 .Mileage was 52000 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2011.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i purchased my 2007 mercedes c230 in approximately february 2011 from carmax in roseville, ca. within six weeks, i was driving on a local freeway when i experienced a loss of acceleration power yet the engine was running a over 4000 rpm. i returned to the carmax dealership to report the engine problem, but the dealership could not recreate the problem, which repeated itself intermittently in the following months. in december 2011, i took the car to a local mercedes specialist for a service b; upon examination, the specialist advised me that the car had not received a 60,000 mile service b, including a transmission service, and asked if the car had exhibited the power loss and high rpm. the specialist informed me that a mercedes service bulletin advised of an incompatibility between the metal material of the transmission and the original factory fluid, which causes a shearing problem and build up on the transmission shifting sensors. the specialist recommended and performed a service of flushing & replacement of the transmission fluid with a newly formulated, mercedes recommended fluid. immediately following the service and fluid replacement, there were fewer incidents of power loss. in recent weeks, six months after the transmission service, the issue of power loss has re-occurred frequently, multiple times per week, multiple times per day, many times on the freeway at speeds of 55-65 mph, requiring me to pull to the shoulder of the freeway to turn off the car an allow to reset before re-entering the flow of traffic. this loss of power and transmission control while driving at freeway speed is a great safety concern to me. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 59000 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 15, 2012.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. had a problem with ENGINE . i purchased my car brand new, it was never previously owned and directly from a mercedes benz dealer. i started having problems with speed and gear shifting back in may 2012. when driving on the freeway normal speed (55mph) the car would begin to slow down no matter how much i pressed the accelerator the car would slow to a complete stop. i would have to attempt to pull over off the freeway, turn the car completely off, let it sit and then start it again and the car would run normal. when i get off the freeway or now even when i am driving on a back road going 35 mph the car would shake as i came to a stop sign or traffic light (as if i was driving a stick shift and didn't put the car in neutral or press the clutch) and then it would shut down completely. now i am having a third issue in addition to these issues where the car will shift gears on it's own and i'm driving in automatic mode not as a 5 speed. this is completely ridiculous for me to have transmission issue on a mercedes benz that i purchased new. i took it to a dealer who claims that i have to replace the entire transmission due to one small piece within the transmission system. i have checked online and have seen that hundreds of other benz owners are having the same problems with no resolution from the manufacturer. i am requesting an investigation and a recall. this is an extreme safety hazard that a car will completely shut down while on a freeway and there have been times when i have almost collided with other cars due to the immediate decline in speed. i have to always find a way to pull over to shut off the car. i purchased this car because of the quality that it should provide. please follow up with me regarding this issue i am extremely concerned that requests are being ignored by the manufacturer and no one is looking into this matter. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 102000 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 15, 2012.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i purchased my car brand new, it was never previously owned and directly from a mercedes benz dealer. i started having problems with speed and gear shifting back in may 2012. when driving on the freeway normal speed (55mph) the car would begin to slow down no matter how much i pressed the accelerator the car would slow to a complete stop. i would have to attempt to pull over off the freeway, turn the car completely off, let it sit and then start it again and the car would run normal. when i get off the freeway or now even when i am driving on a back road going 35 mph the car would shake as i came to a stop sign or traffic light (as if i was driving a stick shift and didn't put the car in neutral or press the clutch) and then it would shut down completely. now i am having a third issue in addition to these issues where the car will shift gears on it's own and i'm driving in automatic mode not as a 5 speed. this is completely ridiculous for me to have transmission issue on a mercedes benz that i purchased new. i took it to a dealer who claims that i have to replace the entire transmission due to one small piece within the transmission system. i have checked online and have seen that hundreds of other benz owners are having the same problems with no resolution from the manufacturer. i am requesting an investigation and a recall. this is an extreme safety hazard that a car will completely shut down while on a freeway and there have been times when i have almost collided with other cars due to the immediate decline in speed. i have to always find a way to pull over to shut off the car. i purchased this car because of the quality that it should provide. please follow up with me regarding this issue i am extremely concerned that requests are being ignored by the manufacturer and no one is looking into this matter. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 102000 miles. MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 04, 2012.MERCEDES BENZ C230 2007, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . every time i filled up on gas i would smell gas inside the cabin. i then proceeded to investigate into why i was smelling gas. i looked between the tire and the fender on the car on the driver side and noticed that there was a wet spot on top of the plastic under cover guard. at that point i took out the back seat and opened the access panel on the driver side and it was at that point i noticed fuel leaking. i then opened the passenger side and noticed the same thing, fuel leaking. now that i know why i was smelling fuel i replaced the seals on both sides hoping that was going to fix the problem. i then went to the gas station filled up again to see if replacing the gaskets did the job. when i got home i opened both panels and noticed that i was still leaking fuel. as i looked hard at the pumps, sensor and leveler i noticed that the plastic electrical connecters that were molded to the top of the lids was no good and seeping out fuel. at that point i replaced both sides. i spent roughly around $550.00. i know it i had the dealer do it, it would have been double that. for a vehicle only being 5 years old it should not have these kind of problem with it. i am glad that i have mechanic skills to do things like this. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 100000 miles.
