FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on May 30, 2009.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with SUSPENSION . ford 2005 f250 4x4 super duty ,violent shaking. on sat may 30th at approx 11:00 am pacific standard time, i was traveling on the i 280 south freeway with my daughter to a soccer tournament in my 2005 f250 4x4 super duty truck. we were in cruise control going approx 55 mph. we drove over what i believe was a large expansion joint on the freeway. immediately after we traveled over joint, the vehicle start to violently shake and vibrate. after a tense moment of complete terror as the vehicle became extremely difficult to control and continued to shake violently we came to a unsafe stop on the freeway. after the complete stop, i immediately had to speed up again to prevent being rear ended in the middle of the freeway. the rest of the trip was spent white knuckled traveling well below freeway speeds for fear of another episode of shaking . every bump in the road was a scary reminder of what might happen again. my daughter is scared to travel in the truck and my wife has demanded that the problem be addressed immediately,or "sell the ¿!@#$% truck" . this is not an isolated incident. ford motor company sent a notice informing me of the problem. they indicated it could be prevented with proper tire pressure. my tires were well within the range of pressure suggested. i know this because i checked them immediately when i arrived home. this is completely unacceptable and presents a major risk to the driver of these vehicles as well as the surrounding drivers. i almost lost control of my truck and had flashes of my daughter and i never making it home. there was a parent traveling behind us in a truck. they witnessed the violent shaking and said "i thought your axle was going to come undone and you were going to crash" .this is completely unacceptable and i will be taking my daughters and my experience to as many forums as possible until there is a full recall on these trucks. ford is completely aware of the situation, don't let them get away this. *tr.Mileage was 34341 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 2004.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . a snap ring inside the transmission fails allowing the planet to shift forward breaking housing tabs off causing a external leak of transmission fluid to other vehicles driving down the road,no warning a transmission may lock up causing safety concerns, ford has recognized the situation before and sent a internal notice to mechanics to fix the problem, no recall was ever sent. trucks between 90,000 and 120,000 have this problem, ford said i was first ever complaint, which is a lie, i have found through research early 2004 through 2006 models have this problem of failure without notice. ford hopes for these to get past warranty so customer has to pay a outrageous sum to fix, so far i have found 40 cases resulting this situation in my area alone and mainly 9/10 are ford f250s. i seen the internal communication but was denied a copy of it. my service advisor at silsbee ford showed me. also this part is not covered under any extended warranty, and ford denies ever having this problem, the vehicle behind me was showered with transmission fluid almost resulting in a crash because it smeared on her windshield to the point that she could not see. no warning ,so sound, i drove another 20 miles before i noticed a major slip in shifting and discovered a leak. the tranny fluid sprayed all over the exhaust pipe smoking and a stench of burning tranny fluid. *tr.Mileage was 114000 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on May 05, 2007.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . my 2005 ford f-250 superduty 6.0l diesel, first incident was may of 2007, at 16,000 miles my turbo charger went bad when i was trailering my horses in vermont, forced to stop at unknown dealership who "cleaned" something so i would make it back to my home. again on the drive home i lost the turbo. it had to be replaced at the dealership, columbia ford, ct the next day. i was told i had to drive my truck hard and everyday in order to prevent the problem from occurring again. in march 2010 brought my truck to monaco ford, the motor had to be removed due to "all of the gaskets and seals in the motor leaking, as well as the turbo charger being bad again. this occurred at 24,500 miles. the side walls of my tires are peeling, the running board on the drivers side is falling off, and the body side molding is coming off and now at 26,000 miles the air position selector for the climate control system is not working. if i put it in a position for venting or for front and floor i just blows through the defrost vents. obviously the warranty has passed with the exception of the motor and i have 26,500 miles on this truck. *tr.Mileage was 16000 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on July 23, 2011.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with SUSPENSION . my kids and i were driving on i-70 west coming from cambridge ohio to columbus. we hit a rough spot in the road and the front end started shaking violently from side to side. the whole truck was shaking. i let my foot off the accelerator and changed lanes. this did not stop the shaking. i went off on the berm and continued to slow down. at approx. 35-40 mph it stopped shaking. i checked the tires and all were fine. we proceeded on and roughly 10 miles down the road it did it again. i again took my foot off the gas and headed towards the berm, i did try hitting the brakes this time. brakes made no difference. the shaking did not stop until we were between 35 and 40 mph. i have owned this truck since it had 5,000 miles on it and have traveled this road many times. the truck has always bounced around when hitting rough road surfaces, however, it stopped once past the rough spot. my truck is only used occasionally and has all of its original components it left the factory with, including the tires. i can not find any loose tie rod ends. once i got home i turned off the truck and when i went to restart it to pull into the garage the battery was completely dead. this could of been totally coincidence, however, i believe the violent shaking caused a battery plate to short out. in my opinion this is completely unacceptable and is not a safe condition for anyone to be in at highway speeds. if my wife had been driving, she would not have been able to control the vehicle. i appreciate your prompt attention to this matter as it could have very serious and unfortunate consequences for other owners who could experience this problem, at any time, without warning. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 18723 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on July 23, 2011.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with STEERING . my kids and i were driving on i-70 west coming from cambridge ohio to columbus. we hit a rough spot in the road and the front end started shaking violently from side to side. the whole truck was shaking. i let my foot off the accelerator and changed lanes. this did not stop the shaking. i went off on the berm and continued to slow down. at approx. 35-40 mph it stopped shaking. i checked the tires and all were fine. we proceeded on and roughly 10 miles down the road it did it again. i again took my foot off the gas and headed towards the berm, i did try hitting the brakes this time. brakes made no difference. the shaking did not stop until we were between 35 and 40 mph. i have owned this truck since it had 5,000 miles on it and have traveled this road many times. the truck has always bounced around when hitting rough road surfaces, however, it stopped once past the rough spot. my truck is only used occasionally and has all of its original components it left the factory with, including the tires. i can not find any loose tie rod ends. once i got home i turned off the truck and when i went to restart it to pull into the garage the battery was completely dead. this could of been totally coincidence, however, i believe the violent shaking caused a battery plate to short out. in my opinion this is completely unacceptable and is not a safe condition for anyone to be in at highway speeds. if my wife had been driving, she would not have been able to control the vehicle. i appreciate your prompt attention to this matter as it could have very serious and unfortunate consequences for other owners who could experience this problem, at any time, without warning. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 18723 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on Apr 28, 2012.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with STEERING . i started this trip at the kentucky horse park, i-75 at exit 120. i had been driving an hour, heading north. this incident took place late afternoon, between 5pm and 6pm, broad daylight excellent visibility, dry, partly cloudy, traveling 65 mph in the center of three lanes. i was not tired nor distracted. i was northbound on i-75 in northern ky when i went over a minor bump, just rough pavement. i am absolutely certain there was no object in the road. after the bump the truck began steering erratically, wandering, much as it had 4 days earlier when i took it to my ford dealer and they replaced the front u-joints. i slowed down, got the truck under control, turned off the cruise control, and moved to the right lane. i heard a high-pitched screeching metal noise. then i smelled burning rubber. i was alert and very aware of road conditions and the traffic (two lanes were merging from the right from i-275 so i was in the center of five lanes) and i am certain there were no objects in the road. the concrete was clear and smooth. i heard a loud bang under the right front of the truck and it took off to the right. it was immediately clear the truck was not responding to the steering wheel. i put both feet on the brake pedal, made my body rigid and pulled up on the steering wheel for maximum down force on the brake pedal. completely out of control, i traveled across both lanes on my right (the merging lanes from i-275) and came to a stop with the left rear wheel on the concrete apron and all other wheels in the rocky soil that was the side of a ditch with a mountain on the other side. it was later determined that the tie rod end had snapped. one theory is that the tie rod end was over-hardened and became brittle, possibly cracked, then the new u-joints changed the stresses on it and it snapped. insurance report, crash site and parts photos available on request. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 86646 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on May 13, 2009.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . the 2005 ford f250 pickup trucks has an issue while filling vehicle with fuel. the fuel shoots out of gas tank fill inlet during the fueling process. this problem will happen with the fuel gauge registering empty, half, or near full. i have had gas shoot all over me and other people time and time again. i have been instructed to not get gas in that truck at every gas station near my home. i have to drive across town to get gas. as soon as they notice fuel spilling out of my truck, i will be banned from their stations too. there are 8 gas stations within 5 blocks that have banned me. it costs me approx. $4 to go get fuel, even though there is a staion 1 block away. i contacted ford customer service many times. they claim it isn't a recall issue. i researched the ford executives company email addresses and sent emails to them. the email addresses were still valid and not returned. the emails made it to those executives but they never responded. i explained that the fuel spillage is causing a huge safety concern and may kill me or someone else. i explained that the problem may cause an explosion at a store. the ford motor service professionals have told me that the filter in the tank has gone bad. i have made the costly repair 4 times since may of 2008. it works well for a few months and then the gas shoots out again. on one of those instances, the fuel spilled out, and i finished fueling and pulled to the front of the store to report the spillage. someone drove up in that spot smoking a cigarette and caused a fire from the fuel spilled at the pump. i was banned from that store as well. i have to either pay for a costly gas tank fuel filter replacement, get banned from stores for honestly reporting the spillage, or fuel up and drive away from the store before someone notices that i spilled fuel. i don't like doing any of those things. ford doesn't care..Vehicle was on fire. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 145000 miles. FORD F-250 2005 car safety problem was reported on Sept 16, 2014.FORD F-250 2005, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with ENGINE . while driving on m-37 i noticed white steam coming out of exhaust. noticed engine temp rising. i stopped cooled engine and brought truck home, where it has been since then. this is a problem ford motor company has known about since 2005. the engineering department identified this design flaw back then and still to this day refuse to help compensate consumers for repairs. the head bolts stretch allowing for the head gaskets to fail. i asked ford motor company customer service if i brought my vehicle to a authorized ford dealer if they would absorb some of the extensive cost for repairs ( 5-6000 dollars). their response was no, because we have no recalls on this. in my opinion they have knowingly allowed this engine to be manufactured and sold to the public even thou these design flaws were present. that is plain unacceptable. i ask you to go on the internet. type in ford 6.0 diesel and see how many forums come up. you will see case after case of failures. i am left with this repair cost, and with no relief from ford..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 118150 miles.
