Subaru Impreza 2008 Air Bags FrontalSubaru Impreza 2008 Air Bags Frontal Review #10225568 SUBARU IMPREZA 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 26, 2008.SUBARU IMPREZA 2008, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with AIR BAGS:FRONTAL . passenger airbag failures in 2008 subaru impreza outback sport: i purchased a 2008 subaru impreza outback sport one month ago, 4/17/08. i realized a few days after owning the car that the passenger airbag is only activated by passengers over 130 pounds. i am 49 years old, 5'4" and weigh 125#. the airbag is off anytime i am in the passenger seat, no matter how i sit in the seat. same result (off) happens with my 16 year old daughter who is 120# and a couple of her friends who are between 105-115#. i then had two children, 87# and 95# sit in the passenger seat. the passenger airbag was off. the passenger airbag light is on when my sons are in the seat. they weigh 150# and 160#. i called subaru service and they said the passenger airbag is set to be on for persons over 80# and they recommended i bring the car in to get checked. i took my car to subaru service and they said "the passenger airbag is operating properly according to government standards." i called subaru corporate office and they said the same thing. i went back to the subaru dealer and sat in two identical impreza outback sports and the exact same result that the passenger airbag was off. i also sat in four 2009 subaru foresters and the passenger airbag was off in 2 of the 4. i sat in two 2008 legacy outback wagons and the passenger airbag was on. i sat in two 2008 tribecas and the passenger airbag was on. subaru is not being cooperative in resolving the situation. *tr .Mileage was 126 miles. Subaru Impreza 2008 Power TrainSubaru Impreza 2008 Power Train Review #10476752 SUBARU IMPREZA 2008 car safety problem was reported on July 01, 2011.SUBARU IMPREZA 2008, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN . this car is a lemon. i previously owned 2 subarus (both used), that i had virtually zero problems with, then bought this new from apple subaru in york, pa. it has experienced problems before it even hit 50,000 miles. the tranny they replaced under warranty; but it took them 3 weeks to do so, and only completed job when they needed the loaner car back within 24 hours. less than 6,000 miles later, on christmas eve, the clutch throw out bearing failed, i had to pay for towing to and from the dealership. they called on12/26, and informed me that it would not be covered under warranty ( even though they easily could have rushed the tranny job and caused this), that it was a "wear point." when i heard $1700, asked to speak with the service mgr., who inferred that i was ignorant, and hung up on me! i have never replaced a clutch in nearly 40 years of driving manual transmission autos. motor now taps at 69,000 mi.; needs replacement because one of the connecting rods is bent, and i am beginning to lose oil. because of this, i am going to take a 50-75% reduction on the sale/trade value of this haunted vehicle. i am the third family member that subaru has screwed, sure hope they treat their other loyal , decades-long customers better than they have treated us. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 47800 miles. Subaru Impreza 2008 Power Train Review #10483687 SUBARU IMPREZA 2008 car safety problem was reported on Oct 16, 2012.SUBARU IMPREZA 2008, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN . the car began making a loud squealing noise when the clutch was depressed, it stalled out 5 times in 11 blocks, and it started to smell. i stopped at the nearest mechanic to my work and they were nice enough to let me leave it there for the day even though they do not do clutch work. after numerous discussions with subaru service, they finally seemed to agree to work with me and investigate why this happened. at first, they seemed to want to disregard the problem because i am a woman and they really made it sound like i was to blame (ie, bad driving). i explained to them over and over that my other car is a 15 year old manual jetta with the original clutch, so the problem is not bad driving. after much back and forth, subaru paid for the entire replacement of the clutch and throwout bearing, as well as some hydraulic hoses and even the tow to the dealer. in the end, i was happy with the end result, but i really think that subaru needs to own up and admit that something is wrong with the 2008 impreza clutch. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 49500 miles. I test drove a 2011 Subaru Outback yesterday at night in a very dark area with the headlights on. I could only see out of the bottom third of the windshield. The top two thirds of the windshield looked as if a black curtain had dropped down over i I notice if I quickly accelerate/go into overdrive - front of car will hum. Do I need to have something checked out? 2004 forester xt, strong gas smell in the cold weather when the heat is on. They won't fix it because they "can't find it" at my dealership. Do I need a new fuel line or is there an easier fix? Thank you for these, can find a decent review now. My 1998 subaru forester stutters/hiccups/bucks (whatever you call it) when going uphill, and when accelerating on a straight path, can it be the transmission? I HAVE A SUBARU FORESTER 2000 TAIL LIGHT/PLATE LIGHT/'FRONT SIGNAL LIGHT STAYS ON.ONCE FUSE IS REMOVED LIGHT GOES OUT.WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE? I own a 2008 Subaru impreza, till last week i was fine, but now it is having some problem i.e it is making whining sound from  steering pump, will i have to replace the steering pump and hoe much will it cost. Standard on all Impreza models are anti lock disc brakes, stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints to help mitigate crash-induced whiplash 2006 Subaru outback died. Will not tke a boost. With battery cable connected there is an error code in the odometer. Does anybody know what this can be? 2007 Forester bangs into gear-been doing this mainly in cold weather but now all the time. Dealer always says not problem-it has to "warm up" and doesnt want ot deal with it. My 2002 Impreza Outback Sport's check engine light comes on when I'm going downhill, not all the time. Also (not all the time), if I don't downshift when coming to a stop, the car dies, not stalls, dies. It starts right back up. The engine l i just wrecked my 04 wrx front impact and no air bag and seat belt locked after the impact...how do i contact some one to have this investigated?
