Pontiac Montana 1998 Engine And Engine Cooling Exhaust System Manifold/header/muffler/tail PipePONTIAC MONTANA 1998 car safety problem was reported on Apr 26, 2004.PONTIAC MONTANA 1998, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE . a year ago,i puchased a previously owned 1998 pontiac montana transport van with approximately 58,000 miles on it. i am a certificated aircraft mechanic with over 10 yrs of experience. so, i am aware of potentional problems with used vehicles. i did not have any problems with this vehicle until 3 months ago. when i had a low coolant light come on. i immediatley checked the fluid level and it was low. i then, began to look for a reason for low coolant. i found the coolant leaking externally out the intake manifold area. i was able to put a socket on the nearest intake bolts and found that they were loose. this temporarily stopped the leak. serviced all the fluids. i assumed this problem was fixed. i did not notice any engine noises, no other problems, nothing else. two weeks ago, the van and it lost power momentarily, then a service engine soon light came on. no other problems, van resumed performance. when i inspected the van and its components. it had a code of 300 which meant "random misfire" in the engine. this is a code that could be given by numerous reasons. i allowed the van to idle to operating temperatures. when suddenly the engine shuts down. i immediately start it back up. now it has no oil pressure and the valves are rattling. i contacted my local pontiac dealer to see if they were aware of any recalls or service bulletins relating to this model. they did not know of any. i began to research this problem. i was alarmed at what i had found. apparently, this is a problem that is repeated over and over with this particular engine and coolant combination. specifically dexcool, the orange coolant. it is showing possible incompatibilities between the coolant and the gaskets used on the intake manifolds, heads and other vital engine components. one of the web-sites i researched was www.gm-v6lemons.com. i would like for gm to radify this into a recall( service bulletin) because so many of us has suffered from this possible defect.*ak.Mileage was 69000 miles. 1992 Pontiac Bonneville had Battery stolen& all cables cut. Have My 1992 Pontiac Bonneville had (the week before Xmas) the Battery stolen& the thieves cut all the cables to it. I have since re-installed the needed cable terminals & new Battery. When turning the key in the ignition, all light HELP.....my 2006 G6 sometimes it doesnt want to turn on if i hit the gas it"ll start but not without a problem I have a Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006 model. I recently hit a deer that was dead in the road. My car just quit. It turns over but won't start. It seems as if it isn't getting any gas. Someone told me it might have a safety feature that keeps the gas f my 2007 vibe drivers seat height will not stay in the highest position. After a day or two I have to crank it up again. Why won't it stay up? GM replaced the seat and it is doing the same thing... Anyone else have this frustrating issue? HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR 1985 GTV6 FIERO TO HAVE CRUISE CONTROL. DOES THIS AFFECT PRICE AND IMPORTANT FEATURE IN SELLING THIS VEHICLE? Started sputtering & check engine light flashed for a bit then went off. Still sputters but the warning light hasn't reappeared. ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK, EXCEPT FOR HEAD LIGHTS. ALSO, HORN DOES NOT WORK Check brake fluid level & all the brake lights. Especially the one in the back window. what would cause my 2006 g6 not to shift into overdrive I bought my '03 Vibe almost three years ago. When I purchased it from a private owner it was gorgeous but within the first six months of ownership a bubble developed in the clear coat of the paint on the back left next to the rear window. It qui my 2004 pontica vibe steering wheel vibrates or shakes when going 70 mph or above. It's not the tires or wheels, and suggestions? I think it may have to do with the brakes.
