Ford F-250 2002 TiresFord F-250 2002 Tires Review #10441772 FORD F-250 2002 car safety problem was reported on Nov 28, 2011.FORD F-250 2002, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with TIRES . tl* the contact owns a 2002 ford f250 with definity dakota a/t tires, size lt 265/75r16, dot number: utw8pa91108. the contact was driving 70 mph when the tread separated from the front passenger tire. the contact merged to the shoulder where he changed the tire and installed the spare. there were no road hazards that could possibly have contributed to the failure. the tire was taken to a local tire merchant who re-installed a new tire. a month later while driving 70 mph, the front driver and the rear passenger side tires experienced tread separation, causing damage to the front driver side under carriage. the spare tire was installed o both failed tires. the tires were not inspected fro the cause of the failure and the manufacturer of was not contacted. the failure mileage was 160,000 and the current mileage was 183,000. the failure mileage of the tire was 15,000. .Mileage was 160000 miles. Ford F-250 2002 Engine And Engine CoolingFord F-250 2002 Engine And Engine Cooling Review #10452118 FORD F-250 2002 car safety problem was reported on Mar 16, 2012.FORD F-250 2002, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . on 03/16/2012 at 10:30pm while on my way home from work, i came to a stop at a stop sign. truck was running fine. as i pulled away from the stop sign and accelerating i heard a loud pop and what sounded like an exhaust leak. i immediately pulled over and looked under the hood. i found that the coil on the #3 spark plug was out and the exhaust sound was coming from the hole where the spark plug should have been. only living 2 miles from work, i drove the truck home and parked it til morning. in the morning i went out and tried to put the plug back in and realized there were no threads to thread the plug into. this is very disconcerting realizing that there will be some major work needing to be done on the truck before i can drive it again. not to mention cost. upon some internet research, i have found that this has been a major problem with these ford trucks and that ford is refusing to do a recall on this matter. i just purchased this truck on 03/12/2012 and cannot drive it any more. i will not drive it any more due to the safety aspect of the fuel vapors coming out of the hole and possibly catching fire from the spark plug wire still arcing. least of all that it will cause more damage to the engine before it can be repaired. thank you for your time in this matter and i am hoping that something can be done in the near future that will make ford do a recall on these trucks and get the problem fixed once and for all. *tr.Mileage was 88715 miles. Ford F-250 2002 Power TrainFord F-250 2002 Power Train Review #10479557 FORD F-250 2002 car safety problem was reported on Sept 21, 2012.FORD F-250 2002, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with POWER TRAIN . after coming to a stop at a retail parking lot, i could not shift into park. it felt as though the shift lever had become unattached from the transmission. i shut the vehicle off while in drive and applied the parking brake. investigation revealed that the bracket that is attached to the transmission to hold the shift cable to allow shifting of the transmission, broke away from the transmission threaded mounting bosses. the aluminum threaded mounting bosses crumbled with several pieces falling to the ground. the inability of placing the vehicle into neutral or park especially at a time of urgency is of great concern to me. a repair option short of replacing the transmission has not yet been discovered. several ford dealers said that they have never heard of such an issue. my mechanic who is trying to develop a make-shift bracket stated he has seen many cases on web sites that are available to repair stations. one google search on ford truck forum showed an identical problem such as mine. thank you *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 61253 miles. Ford F-250 2002 Service BrakesFord F-250 2002 Service Brakes Review #10510904 FORD F-250 2002 car safety problem was reported on May 04, 2013.FORD F-250 2002, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . 2002 ford f250 super duty rusted steel brake line which caused the brakes to fail at 25mph in neighborhood. i have 84,507 miles on the vehicle and do not live in a harsh environment. the location of rusty area is approximately 6 - 12 inches away from junction splice for the front brakes and rear brake line. the rusty brake line is the long rear brake line. the steel brake line is rubbing a cable cover that has metal tape on it and has caused premature rusting. i live in east tennessee and the weather is not harsh. i purchased the vehicle new and had brake rotor problems before and had the dealer to turn the rotors once and replace the front rotors. thank goodness i was traveling in the neighborhood when this happen. the week before i drove the truck on i-40 going to north carolina thru the gorge. what if it happened then? *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 84507 miles. Ford F-250 2002 Vehicle Speed ControlFord F-250 2002 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10569031 FORD F-250 2002 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2011.FORD F-250 2002, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . my family is ford motor dedicated and as we buy new trucks the old ones are passed on to other family members. we purchased three new trucks and having problems with two. they are ford 2002 f250 super duty with the 7.3 l diesel. both trucks have had there defective injector wire harnesses replaced, shorted out on the interstate causing the engines to shut completely down. no steering, brakes, nothing. i was told by the tech that the wiring is defective and the oil and heat is what was caused the failure, he has seen this repair quit often. the other problem is acceleration to pass or get up to speed quickly going on the interstate or anywhere, when you depress the throttle pedal quickly there is nothing like it just fell on its face. after you take your foot of the pedal and count about 5 seconds and try it again it will work. big safety issue. i have had 4 close calls and cant afford to repair this truck all the time on v.a. disability. if you know anything please pass it on or back to me. repairs are very expensive. [xxx] the steering box constantly fails. becomes loose inside. vehicle wanders severely. this is an ongoing problem since vehicle was purchased new. i'm putting in the 3rd steering gear. ford mechanics would not consider the box being bad. it was my fault. excuses were ball joints, keep them greased. i greased it once a week prior to it being in the dealership. as it wouldn't stay on the road. then it was the nature of the vehicle. they all do it. what? it has new moog ball joints. so that's out. very well greased. so that's out. being the 3rd box in 89k, just isn't right. vehicle is stock. no lifts, no oversize tires. i did a web search. multiple folks are having the same problem from 01 to 08 f series. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 89000 miles. my 95 ford exploere engine surges when turn my air conditioner on Ihave a 1994 ford probe which has started to idle very low and stalls at times. It is a 4 cyl. w/ air and a 5 speed. any ideas? I replaced the fuel filter, air flow meter and added HEAT to gas tank to dry and clean fuel system. I think my pcv valv should a standard transmission truck start when it is in gear without the clucth engaged? should a 2005 standard transmission ford ranger start when in gear without the clutch engaged? 96 Ford F250 Emergency brake lever gets caught on the auto adjustment spring, causing brakes to be permanently engaged, also allowing the parking break lever to rub against the hub, which can cut through over time. try pushing the pedals button closer to you. you must have the pedal adjustment button to the left of the radio, looks like a foot, that brings the pedals more inward towards the driver. hope it helped. or look carefully if a wire has corroded. it i would check ur multi switch on ur stearing colum on the pedal whats the sound Just bought an '06 E-350 van. Left d'ship got on highway and noticed shimmy when I got to 60....same problem???? that happened to me last night! If you rock the car back and for while shifting then it should release the safety lock! why does it take turning off the veh. while pulling in on the shifter arm, them starting it again while still holding it inwards ever so slightly??
