MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Mar 18, 2010.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . my complaint; in 3/18/2010 at 2:00pm while i was driving the radio display blanked out and the radio stopped working all together. traction control system (tcs) was blinking and the electronic stability control stayed on. gauge needles were bouncing. i stopped the vehicle and turned it on and off three times then everything came back on. then later in the day 3/18/2010 at 7:00 pm the radio display and the radio stopped working all together. this time i just kept pressing the on and off button a couple times this did not work but then the radio just came on by itself while i was driving. i took the car to the dealer on 3/19/2010 the results as the dealer notice says: unable to duplicate. could not find any poor connections to have caused the problem. during test drive. normal operation observed. pulled codes, two were found for high voltage. no freeze data available. called tech-line and no known issues for these symptoms or codes. suggest inspection of pcm/bcm/fuse block connections and alternator. inspect alternator, normal output, at 14v. all connections good. no corrosion found. no leaks found in the driver kick panel , or loose connections. normal operation and condition at this time. *tr.Mileage was 7500 miles. MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Jan 03, 2011.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . i own a 2009 mazda cx 7 turbo. the vehicle has had it's proper oil changes by a service garage not a "quick lube" place. the oil was castrol gtx 5w-30w, with from oil filter.the longest interval between oil changes was 6000 miles and the shortest 4000 miles. the vehicle now has 45,664 miles on it and the wife complained about a high pitched noise and lack of performance . brought to the mazda dealer, the dealer said the turbo went and that mazda will not cover it under warranty (60,000 warranty on drive train and turbo) because of engine sludge !! are you kidding me...engine sludge, the proper oil viscosity was used at proper interval (mazda says 7500 between oil changes). no signs of over heating, high engine temps, the vehicle is driven to work and back (4 miles away) 2x's per day 6 days a week. sounds to me like engine oil is not getting up to temp. and this is causing the sludge, mazda does not state this anywhere any time in their manual. i found this out only after researching on line....anyone else having issues with their mazda ???? i've owned turbos before and never had issues. my vehicle gets it's oil change by the same station and this nissan has 190,000 miles on it with no problems and no sludge !!! *tr.Mileage was 45664 miles. MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Feb 01, 2012.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . in january 2012, i received a letter from mazda inc that the company was extending the warranty on the timing chain to 70,000 miles. in the letter, it stated that a certified mazda dealer could inspect the vehicle to determine if the timing chain has a problem. on feb 24 the vehicle was inspected by a certified mazda garage and when my husband went to pick it up, they said "it has a slight noise but nothing big.then they asked for all the receipts from the oil changes. now, we bought the car in march 2009, therefore we would have no receipts for the past year and a half the car was with another owner. we only had 3 receipts b/c my husband routinely change the oil . now, the other thing was in early february, the vehicle began to not start all the time. it was taken to our local garage and the repair man said it could be a number of things, but since it has the timing chain issue...that could be one of the problems that causes a car not to start. it left me stranded on 3 occasions. so,from february until march 30, my husband argued with mazda and the dealership that first inspected the vehicle. the deal was mazda was not going to pay for a new timing chain b/c we couldn't produce oil change receipts and if there was sludge in the motor "this could be why". so on march 30, the mazda dealership called and said for $180 the gaskets could be pulled to see if there was sludge. which in all the reports that i read on this website, majority of engines had sludge b/c the motor burns the oil too hot. the other repairs that vehicle had: 2010 -air conditioner compressor (it was recalled) ($900), a new starter ($300), dec 2011- rt rear wheel bearing ($600), feb '12- new battery ($100) which didn't need to be replaced b/c it was part of the timing chain problem.so on april 4, we traded the vehicle and bought a 2009 honda cr-v. my husband and i will never by a mazda again. .Mileage was 67800 miles. MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Apr 27, 2012.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with ENGINE . around the end of april 2012 i noticed that my mazda started making a loud noise - comparable to a semi or diesel truck. the noise was constant, regardless of speed, and maintained at the same level as long as the car was on. i took the car to mazda on may 12th to determine the cause of the noise. within a few hours of dropping the car off, the dealership called me back and advised that it was the vvt system that was causing the noise and it needed to be fixed. all they needed was my oil change receipts to cover this repair under warranty. i advised them that i don't keep all of my oil change receipts; that i go to various businesses each time i get an oil change based on who has a special, coupons, nearest location etc. i was then told without the receipts i would have to pay $4000 for the repair. after doing a lot of research on the internet, i've discovered that this problem is caused by faulty parts used by mazda - and not by potential neglect from the consumer. there's case after case of people reporting similar problems in their cx7, mazda requiring oil change history, and service being denied regardless if appropriate history is provided. upon further inspection the technicians find "oil sludge" in the vehicle and quickly determine that it's the fault of the consumer. i've now been asked to bring my car back into the dealership for futher diagnosis. i told both the representative at the warranty desk as well as my service manager at the dealership that based on my research online, i already can predict what will be found and what will be said to me. i noted that mazda recently issued a letter of january of this year extending the warranty of this very part because of the on going issues. so this isn't something they're unaware of - it's just something they are (wrongly) refusing to cover on their warranty. something needs to be done about mazda's neglect!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 36000 miles. MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Feb 18, 2013.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with ENGINE . i was driving on a highway. i heard a high pitched squealing sound then smoke started blowing out of my car. i could not see, and the other drivers behind me lost visability too. in the middle of this blinding smoke, surrounded by huge trucks, i lost aceleration. my instrumentation panel did not have any warning lights on. i was driving blind. i pulled off the highway as quickly as possible, and had my car towed to a dealership. the dealership said my turbo blew out, (which i guess sucked all the oil out of the car) i need a vvt valve and the timing chain is stretched. on a car with 57,000 miles! in checking on line, i found this has been a problem with the cx-7 for 6 years and they are no longer making this model. i see that mazda deals with these problems by stating the owner did not maintain the car properly, when in actuality, there is a serious problem with the turbo system and how the oil cools it. there is also a problem with "sludge buildup". i believe mazda has been successfully avoiding a recall. but these issues are a real safety concern. i am very lucky that there was no accident as a result of this incident. these issues can be dangerous. when everything blew on my car, no one could see the road. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 57007 miles. MAZDA CX-7 2009 car safety problem was reported on Jan 27, 2014.MAZDA CX-7 2009, manufactured by Mazda Motor Corp. had a problem with POWER TRAIN . this mazda cx-7 has been driven by my disabled finance and used for in city driving it's whole life and one day a high pitched whining sound developed and the car was delivered to capitol mazda for an inspection. upon getting the results we were told that the car had not had regular servicing at the dealer. i agreed as i am an engineer and do most servicing of my families vehicles. they said i had not done the oil changes, but i had done them every 5,000 miles. every vehicle i have ever owned had more than 200,000 mile on them when i sold them. the current toyota truck i am driving has 205,000 and i have done all of the servicing myself. mazda wants over $8,000.00 to repair it back to driving condition. this is an outrage. and it doesn't seem to fix the problem. several forums about this particular vehicle issue show some owners have had more than one turbo installed and then the issue came back. online i have found literally hundreds of stories just like mine. the turbo in the cx family of vehicles is an issue. since mazda doesn't want to take responsibility, the government may have to look into a fine and also a recall of all of these potentially dangerous vehicles on our roads. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 61993 miles.
