Dodge Pickup 1996 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Foundation Components Disc PadsDodge Pickup 1996 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Foundation Components Disc Pads Review #741772 DODGE PICKUP 1996 car safety problem was reported on Dec 27, 2000.DODGE PICKUP 1996, manufactured by DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:PADS . the failure and near fatalities involved the installation of napa brake pads by a local dodge dealer. i was supposed to have had dodge brake pads installed but napa pads were substituted without my knowledge. the failure involved the inside brake pad. somehow, the inside brake pad separated from the metal pad plate. then at the most inopportune time, when i needed to apply the brakes, the brake pad slipped out of the caliper housing. i was on an interstate highway, traveling about 60 mph in a 4-wheel drive pickup in fairly heavy traffic when brake lights started to go off. when i suddenly hit my brakes, they went all the way to the floor. i was horrified. i had no braking power. absolutely nothing. i was forced to begin defensive maneuvers to avoid crashing into other vehicles, nearly rolled over several times and finally made it to the shoulder of the highway. throughout all of this, i was desperately pumping my brakes. after what seemed like an eternity, but most likely 4 or 5 pumps of the brakes before braking power finally reappeared and i was able to stop. i got out of the truck to look for brake fluid but could see nothing, so decided to head home. id had had enough, as i had nearly killed my daughter, others and myself. because of the holidays, the dealer who had earlier installed these brakes and several other shops that i had called were unable to do the job right away. i reluctantly decided to do it myself. the brake pads, when removed, had about 20,000 miles on them but from a wear standpoint seemed to show very little wear. upon disassembly, i discovered that the inside brake pad on the right side of the truck had separated from the metal pad plate and had somehow worked its way out of the caliper housing. im not an expert, but i think it may have been the gap created by the missing brake pad that caused the braking system failure that i experienced. again, im not sure but i think that this gap must be hydraulically eliminated fi.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1B7HF13Y5TJ. I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro thats rear driver side light does not work. I have taken it to a mechanic that can't find out why it won't work and have spent 200.00 He thinks it might be in the wiring system . I have also seen other Dodge Nitro same ye Every time it rains heavily the passenger floor gets soaking wet. My car has never been in an accident or any body damage. It is a 2007 Nitro 4X4. Wasn't there a recall years ago for fixing the roof rack assembly? Has anyone else ever had this iss stereo is all static but the cd player works fine...antennae perhaps? I have the same problem. Dodge can't find the problem so they told me to take it. Next week I'm turning it in and go through the lemom law. Very frustrating when you buy the warrrant and they can't fix it. Garrrrrrrrr. Ihave a 95 Dodge Avenger and the 30 Amp starter/ignition fuse keeps blowing. As soon as you turn the key the instrument panel lights are dim and then the fuse blows. I have replaced the starter, cables, ignition switch, fusible link and battery an 2004 Dodge 2500 Ram Truck, Laramie trim package...horn goes off with no one around it - truck is off and parked in the driveway, keys were not touched. power windows won't work pushing window buttons causes the water in fuel lite to come on along with the brake indicator lite and wait to start lite also turning on the a/c heater causes the same thing soon as you release the switches lites go out 2001 Dodge 5.9 cummins going down the road it sputtered 3 times & shut off and will not restart I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan from Bankston Dodge of Grand Prairie, Texas in May of 2008. Less than 8 months after that (around 12,000 miles) my front brakes went completely out with no indication whatsoever of any problems (The device tha 1995 DODGE NEON 1.6l Feels like it is slipping while driving. with brake pedal depressed car surges, Probably not the door seals. You may have to unstop the two drains that can get filled with debris. The two drains are located in the trough under the grill work that is under the wiper blades. You will need to remove the wiper arms, then remove a '06 dakota - unable to put fuel in gas tank
