Dodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power Train DrivelineDodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power Train Driveline Review #10241747 DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007 car safety problem was reported on Aug 19, 2008.DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007, manufactured by CHRYSLER LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE . the vehicle when in drive at any speed does a jerking motion forward as if it is slipping gears or losing power to the transmission. the sensation is worse, physically moving my body forward, when driving at higher speeds, 60-70. i know the problem was not due to "bad gas" because the car was idling relatively well. it was not electrical due to the fact that you could release your foot from the gas and "coast" and the sensation stopped. i followed up with chrysler to confirm no other recalls had been issued on the car. when i brought the car to the dealer i told them i thought it was the torque converter. this first time they had the car for about 3 days. when i picked it up they said nothing was wrong with the torque converter, they simply updated the transmission via the computer. the first time i drove the car which was on the freeway- assuming it was fixed, the problem occurred immediately but more severe, causing my body to hit the steering wheel. it went back to the garage again, this time magically it was the torque converter and a seal. i got the car back, first time i drove it.. still is doing the same thing. i cant drive my kids it, its not safe to drive on the freeway. it is an accident waiting to happen. twice i was almost rear ended. i am forced to drive it to maintain my job but will only drive in the slow lane so that i have some kind of "out" it is now at the garage for the third time. the dealer is finally paying for the loaner. even if they say they fixed it there is no way i can trust the vehicle. i have contacted chrysler but have received no communication from them regarding this hazardous condition. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 29300 miles. Dodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power Train Automatic TransmissionDodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10241747 DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007 car safety problem was reported on Aug 19, 2008.DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007, manufactured by CHRYSLER LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . the vehicle when in drive at any speed does a jerking motion forward as if it is slipping gears or losing power to the transmission. the sensation is worse, physically moving my body forward, when driving at higher speeds, 60-70. i know the problem was not due to "bad gas" because the car was idling relatively well. it was not electrical due to the fact that you could release your foot from the gas and "coast" and the sensation stopped. i followed up with chrysler to confirm no other recalls had been issued on the car. when i brought the car to the dealer i told them i thought it was the torque converter. this first time they had the car for about 3 days. when i picked it up they said nothing was wrong with the torque converter, they simply updated the transmission via the computer. the first time i drove the car which was on the freeway- assuming it was fixed, the problem occurred immediately but more severe, causing my body to hit the steering wheel. it went back to the garage again, this time magically it was the torque converter and a seal. i got the car back, first time i drove it.. still is doing the same thing. i cant drive my kids it, its not safe to drive on the freeway. it is an accident waiting to happen. twice i was almost rear ended. i am forced to drive it to maintain my job but will only drive in the slow lane so that i have some kind of "out" it is now at the garage for the third time. the dealer is finally paying for the loaner. even if they say they fixed it there is no way i can trust the vehicle. i have contacted chrysler but have received no communication from them regarding this hazardous condition. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 29300 miles. Dodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power TrainDodge Nitro 4x2 2007 Power Train Review #10441649 DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 05, 2011.DODGE NITRO 4X2 2007, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN . about three weeks ago on 05 december 2011, i was driving my 2007 dodge nitro 4x2 until i came to a stop at a red traffic light. i had my blinker on and was ready to make a right turn as soon as the light turned green. when the light turned green i lightly stepped on the accelerator when a loud explosion was heard and felt in the vehicle undercarriage. the vehicle's drive shaft had exploded upwards, hitting the undercarriage and then dropping to the floor. the vehicle lost complete power and stopped immediately after the driveline fell off. my daughter and niece felt the hit in greater magnitude as they were sitting in the back seat. my insurance covered the wrecker and transported the vehicle to the nearest dodge dealership. the dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty heatshield that fell off the undercarriage and was rubbing against the aluminum driveshaft. since the heatshield is made of aluminum and fiberglass, the rubbing of aluminum against aluminum has a cutting effect that caused the driveshaft to cut open and then explode cutting it in half. luckily, i was making a turn going no more than 10 to 15 miles an hour. had i been driving on a highway this issue would have likely caused a fatal and catastrophic accident. there is no recall that i know of. my extended warranty does not cover the repair as it is not covered under the policy. my car insurance does not cover the repairs as it is considered a mechanical failure and not a collision. dodge should conduct an investigation on the cause of the heatshield coming off from the undercarriage, and recall vehicles to prevent any future catastrophic events. *kb.Mileage was 86000 miles. I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro thats rear driver side light does not work. I have taken it to a mechanic that can't find out why it won't work and have spent 200.00 He thinks it might be in the wiring system . I have also seen other Dodge Nitro same ye Every time it rains heavily the passenger floor gets soaking wet. My car has never been in an accident or any body damage. It is a 2007 Nitro 4X4. Wasn't there a recall years ago for fixing the roof rack assembly? Has anyone else ever had this iss stereo is all static but the cd player works fine...antennae perhaps? I have the same problem. Dodge can't find the problem so they told me to take it. Next week I'm turning it in and go through the lemom law. Very frustrating when you buy the warrrant and they can't fix it. Garrrrrrrrr. Ihave a 95 Dodge Avenger and the 30 Amp starter/ignition fuse keeps blowing. As soon as you turn the key the instrument panel lights are dim and then the fuse blows. I have replaced the starter, cables, ignition switch, fusible link and battery an 2004 Dodge 2500 Ram Truck, Laramie trim package...horn goes off with no one around it - truck is off and parked in the driveway, keys were not touched. power windows won't work pushing window buttons causes the water in fuel lite to come on along with the brake indicator lite and wait to start lite also turning on the a/c heater causes the same thing soon as you release the switches lites go out 2001 Dodge 5.9 cummins going down the road it sputtered 3 times & shut off and will not restart I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan from Bankston Dodge of Grand Prairie, Texas in May of 2008. Less than 8 months after that (around 12,000 miles) my front brakes went completely out with no indication whatsoever of any problems (The device tha 1995 DODGE NEON 1.6l Feels like it is slipping while driving. with brake pedal depressed car surges, Probably not the door seals. You may have to unstop the two drains that can get filled with debris. The two drains are located in the trough under the grill work that is under the wiper blades. You will need to remove the wiper arms, then remove a '06 dakota - unable to put fuel in gas tank
