Dodge Challenger 2010 VisibilityDodge Challenger 2010 Visibility Review #10310725 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Feb 10, 2010.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with VISIBILITY . my headliner to my new 2010 rt challenger is hanging down in the back window. the reason is it is not correctly attached. i went my local dealer san marcos dodge and made them aware of this issue and they said they would not do anything about it because they 'all" come from dodge that way. they proceeded to show me another new 2010 dodge challenger str8 with the same issue. i called chrysler and they said they would not do anything about it either that's just the way they come. i went to a dodge forum and since my posting on feb the 11th i now have found several owners with the same problem. this should be covered under the manufactures warranty under defects in material workmanship. the safety issue is if this headliner drops into the rear window area and we lose sight of traffic a potential accident could take place possibly fatal because i do alot of highway driving in austin tx to san marcos tx to go to work daily. there are numerous large trucks i must navigate daily around. please check into this since i seem to have little recourse with the dealer or the chrysler corporation. *tr .Mileage was 2500 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 Vehicle Speed ControlDodge Challenger 2010 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10373542 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Dec 28, 2010.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i used my remote start to warm-up my 2010 challenger rt. i left for work and traveled at 20 mph in my subdivision. i arrived at intersection to make at turn onto a 45 mph street and traveled about 1 mile to light stopped and made a right turn onto another 45 mph street (4 lanes). as i increased speed to 45 limit i felt the gas pedal pull away from my foot and the car began to quickly speed up. i tapped the accelerator and then the brake thinking that the pedal was stuck due to cold weather 18 degrees. it just kept increasing in speed. i immediately shifted into neutral to take torque off the drive train. i let it coast into the next side street and put it into park. the engine was idling at 4000 rpm. i shut it off and restarted it and it immediately jumped back up to 4000 rpm. i had to move it out of the way so i pulled it into a cul-de-sac riding the brake with both feet. again, i shut it off, waited a little and restarted it. again, it jumped to 4000 rpm. i called my wife and told her what had happened. she suggested that i bring it home and take our other car. i decided to try shutting it down again. again when i started it jumped to 4000 rpm. i decided to take it home and rode the brake back to the stop in order to make the left turn to go home. the two lanes of traffic going that direction was non-stop so i elected to avoid going into a congested situation not knowing what it would do. i decided to go right since there were no cars going that direction to worry about hitting. shortly after i made the turn the rpm's dropped to normal. i punched the accelerator to check it and make sure it would not repeat my startling experience. i thank god that my wife was not driving it at the time. she would have panicked and who knows what would have happened. i drove the car the rest of the way to work making sure that i kept a very safe distance between me and the car ahead. i sent chrysler an email about my experience. my car is now at a dealer being evaluated. *tr.Mileage was 4500 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 EngineDodge Challenger 2010 Engine Review #10502432 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Mar 02, 2013.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i was traveling at 65 mph on 4 lane interstate highway. was on a bridge with no shoulder. engine suddenly lost all power. vehicle was coasting and slowing down rapidly. cars behind me were hitting the brakes to avoid rear-ending my vehicle as i attempted to make my way to the shoulder. once across bridge, i pulled to the shoulder. engine would turnover but would not start. towed to dodge dealership. dealer diagnosed problem as broken timing chain, which caused camshaft to stop turning. three exhaust valves were thus held open while the crankshaft continued turning, causing pistons to hit valves, bending valves and denting piston tops near edge of piston. complete new engine required. chrysler corporation is not forthcoming with an explanation for failure or a corrective action. there is no service bulletin per the dealer. i looked online at dodge challenger user forums, and found dozens of owners had experienced identical problem: at 35,000-45,000 miles, dodge challenger 5.7 l hemi with automatic transmission and mds (multiple displacement system) cylinder cutout activated, suddenly lost all power due to broken timing chain. this is obviously a design flaw that is a safety issue. the nhtsa should compel chrysler corporation to develop a corrective action and recall all dodge challenger vehicles with 5.7 l hemi engine immediately. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 41000 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 Electrical SystemDodge Challenger 2010 Electrical System Review #10505749 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Mar 05, 2013.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . my 2010 challenger rt burst into flames at an idol. the engine wire harness shorted and caught fire. thankfully i am a firefighter and saved the vehicle. it has less than 20,000 miles on it. i am furious due to the fact that dodge will not cover it under warranty which it should be. it is a manufactures fault not mine. it was parked and idling when this happened. thankfully there was no one around that could have been hurt. what if i was in grid lock traffic not a firefighter with out the proper extinguisher. a lot of people could have been hurt and their vehicles caught fire. i love dodge. have all my life. i am baffled that they will deny coverage. it sickens me the lack of integrity and care shown. i have tried numerous times with the dealership (meadowland dodge of carmel ny) and corporate. neither one could explain why my vehicle will not be covered. nor did they help to find out why. just a simple we are not covering you due to our faulty and extremely dangerous ticking fire ball time bomb. horrible customer service and care. i will be contacting a lawyer. its a $1200 part i will not be paying for this nor will my insurance and my copay to them. i don't care if i loose money in a lawsuit. it is the simple principle of the matter. this whole experience with dodge has left a very bitter taste. this is inexcusable. its like dodge only cares about making money and not about their loyal customers and the public's safety or concern. i now have to pay for a rental out of my pocket. i have been with out my vehicle for over a month. nothing has been done to it. corporate took a month just to come look at it. simply furious. i purchased this vehicle in full. trusting the company saved up over 5 years including my combat deployment pay. i have been constantly let down by dodge and the dealership. i am also considering making this public (news, forums, facebook). *tr.Vehicle was on fire. 0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 19453 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 Engine Review #10512441 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on May 13, 2013.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i was driving on the interstate at approximately 65mph when a small pop was heard from the engine bay. the engine immediately stopped functioning and i lost all power to the vehicle. i was able to safely stop the vehicle on the shoulder of the interstate without incident. i tried restarting the engine, which just caused the starter to run for 5+ seconds before turning off the start sequence (push button start). the dealership said the cause has been determined to be a snapped timing chain and broken plastic chain guide. this is a 2010 5.7l mds auto transmission challenger. dodge's response is to replace the chain and guide and see if that enables the engine to run. this is an interference fit engine which will mean several valves will have struck the piston heads as a result of the timing chain breaking. in addition, the valve heads and piston heads may have sustain additional damage. the dealership had recommended to dodge a complete engine replacement. while, i find dodge's solution to be whole inappropriate, the failure of the chain is of more concern. approximately 40 occurrences of this have been documented at http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f188/timing-chain-failure-dodge-challenger-69216/ with no solution being presented by dodge to stop the guides from breaking and thus the chains snapping. dodge's inability to adequately and preemptively address this situation will result in more instances of challengers being disabled while traveling at a high rate of speed on a crowded interstate, such as i-75/85 through atlanta. i am lucky my incident did not occur during heavy rush hour traffic which may have resulted in an accident, injury, or worse. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 66000 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 EngineDodge Challenger 2010 Engine Review #10522112 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on June 24, 2013.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i was commuting to work on the westpark tollway in houston in traffic at approximately 7:00am when multiple engine warning lights came on and the engine stopped. i was able to pull to the side, avoiding a collision barely as all systems were dead. after 4 days in the shop it was determined that there was a timing chain failure which in turn caused a catastrophic engine failure, bent valves, damaged pistons etc. upon searching the web i found 39 instances of this failure on one forum. particularly model years 2009 to 2011 and cars with 35 to 40,000 miles and mds. mine has 44,000 and all factory maintenance has been followed. this is particularly troublesome as should this event happen in a heavy traffic or passing situation there could be a serious accident as one has no power to do anything. it is clear from the number of instances and warranty claims that chrysler is aware of the issue which i find troubling. there are alot of cars that are just now coming into the suspect mileage range for this event and it's only a matter of time before a person or persons are seriously injured or killed by this. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 44000 miles. Dodge Challenger 2010 SeatsDodge Challenger 2010 Seats Review #10619384 DODGE CHALLENGER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Aug 01, 2011.DODGE CHALLENGER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with SEATS . i purchased my challenger in 2011 and quickly became aware that the headrest put my head in a very uncomfortable pushed-forward position. after many attempts at manipulating the seat position i came up with something that made it tolerable, but on any long drive (half an hour or more) i get a stiff neck and headache. i had no history of neck problems prior to this time. over time i seem to have developed chronic neck stiffness, muscle tension and numbness in my fingers. my neck has now started cracking when i turn my head suddenly. it has never done this before, but it has seriously aggravated the problem. the headaches it causes are severe and can last weeks. i have noticed whenever i take a "vacation" from driving my car for several weeks at a time the problem improves. just this week, though, my car has been in the shop and i have a rental, a 2013 chevy impala. this car is an absolute nightmare regarding head restraint placement. no matter what seat position i try, it pushes my head forward at a sharp angle. by the time i drive home from work - 20 minutes - i am almost sick from the discomfort and pain. please, please, please... reconsider the legislation passed to make these new head restraints "safer" for me. i may never, ever be involved in an accident where i suffer whiplash injuries, but i am certainly feeling "whiplash" pain. i believe it is causing me permanent injury. there must be a compromise to make cars safer without chronic pain issues for their drivers. i have done extensive research on this issue, so i know i am not alone. i would find a new car, but all newer models i like seem to have this design flaw. i have no idea what to do, other than removing or modifying my headrest to try and get some relief. surely a better rule is preferable to my solution which leaves me completely unprotected. .1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Dodge Challenger 2010 problem was reported in OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro thats rear driver side light does not work. I have taken it to a mechanic that can't find out why it won't work and have spent 200.00 He thinks it might be in the wiring system . I have also seen other Dodge Nitro same ye Every time it rains heavily the passenger floor gets soaking wet. My car has never been in an accident or any body damage. It is a 2007 Nitro 4X4. Wasn't there a recall years ago for fixing the roof rack assembly? Has anyone else ever had this iss stereo is all static but the cd player works fine...antennae perhaps? I have the same problem. Dodge can't find the problem so they told me to take it. Next week I'm turning it in and go through the lemom law. Very frustrating when you buy the warrrant and they can't fix it. Garrrrrrrrr. Ihave a 95 Dodge Avenger and the 30 Amp starter/ignition fuse keeps blowing. As soon as you turn the key the instrument panel lights are dim and then the fuse blows. I have replaced the starter, cables, ignition switch, fusible link and battery an 2004 Dodge 2500 Ram Truck, Laramie trim package...horn goes off with no one around it - truck is off and parked in the driveway, keys were not touched. power windows won't work pushing window buttons causes the water in fuel lite to come on along with the brake indicator lite and wait to start lite also turning on the a/c heater causes the same thing soon as you release the switches lites go out 2001 Dodge 5.9 cummins going down the road it sputtered 3 times & shut off and will not restart I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan from Bankston Dodge of Grand Prairie, Texas in May of 2008. Less than 8 months after that (around 12,000 miles) my front brakes went completely out with no indication whatsoever of any problems (The device tha 1995 DODGE NEON 1.6l Feels like it is slipping while driving. with brake pedal depressed car surges, Probably not the door seals. You may have to unstop the two drains that can get filled with debris. The two drains are located in the trough under the grill work that is under the wiper blades. You will need to remove the wiper arms, then remove a '06 dakota - unable to put fuel in gas tank
