Gmc Sierra 1500 2008 Steering Linkages Tie Rod AssemblyGmc Sierra 1500 2008 Steering Linkages Tie Rod Assembly Review #10221026 GMC SIERRA 1500 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2008.GMC SIERRA 1500 2008, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY . while driving a brand new 2008 gmc sierra, 4 door, 4 wheel drive with only 872 miles on the odometer, going approximately 30 to 40 mph, the steering knuckle holding the tie rod broke on drivers front side. the driver impacted a pull camper trailer exploding the tire upon impact with the camper. the wheel rim was turned side ways as it impacted the tires of the camper flattening 2 tires curling the camper wheel rims and causing damage along the side of the camper. then impacted a ford car down the drivers side that was following the camper. the impact caused the airbag to deploy in the truck. the tire on the truck was found over 200 feet from the impact. the markings on the tire were consistent with the steering knuckle breakage. inspection by both the tow truck owner and the collision repair shop noticed that the part looked defective and pointed it out to the owner of the truck. the tow truck operator owns an identical truck and was very concerned about the safety of his own vehicle. this vehicle has not been repaired and is available for inspection. if failure would have occurred a few hours later on interstate 95 at 70 mph (a planned trip) the outcome could have been much different. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 872 miles. Gmc Sierra 1500 2008 VisibilityGmc Sierra 1500 2008 Visibility Review #10247168 GMC SIERRA 1500 2008 car safety problem was reported on Oct 25, 2008.GMC SIERRA 1500 2008, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with VISIBILITY . while slowly backing my 2008 gmc sierra pick-up truck into the garage, the mirror surface contacted the side of the garage, cracking the mirror. insurance company recommended having an auto glass shop replace the mirror, but a small, flimsy plastic clip that had broken on the back of the mirror prevented them from doing so. cut hand on broken mirror surface after removed by glass shop. dealer estimated repair at $213.02. gm corporate refused to acknowledge defect in mirror backing clip and refused any assistance whatsoever (district specialist level referral from owner relations center. i thought that flexible mirror assemblies were supposed to survive minor collisions - a previous gm vehicle (blazer) performed admirably in a 25 mph collision with a chrome f250 truck mirror w/no damage to the blazer mirror or assembly. the gmc "professional grade" (term used very loosely here) truck that i now own won't even stand up to a minor clip on the side of the garage at slow speed. engineering defects are 1) mirror actuator assembly is of poor quality and/or workmanship and 2) mirror assembly moves up slightly when pivoting, which probably contributed to the breakage at such slow speed (was slowly backing up an incline into the garage). apparently, i was not convincing enough to gm that they have a problem with flimsy mirrors - perhaps nhtsa and bbb can be more persuading. all i asked for was that they cover the flimsy plastic actuator and part of the $93 labor quoted for the job by the dealer. the mirror itself i have no qualms paying for. old parts are available on the truck - i plan to drive my nearly new truck "as is" for a while as a symbol of gm's poor quality of workmanship and poor customer service. i also plan on telling as many people as possible about how flimsy gm makes their vehicles and how non-existent their customer support is. *tr.1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1500 miles. Gmc Sierra 1500 2008 Service Brakes, HydraulicGmc Sierra 1500 2008 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10321453 GMC SIERRA 1500 2008 car safety problem was reported on Feb 05, 2010.GMC SIERRA 1500 2008, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . 09/2009 ¿ began to hear front brakes intermittently squeaking when i applied brakes. 10/2009 - took vehicle to midas for inspection. technician discovered both front and rear brakes were worn down needed to be replaced, truck had approximately 19,000 miles paid for both front and rear brakes to be replaced. 2/2010 ¿ went to local mountains (big bear) for the day with my family. while coming down the mountain i noticed my brake pedal starting to get soft. pulled over onto a turn our point and noticed my front driver¿s side wheel was smoking. please my hands close to the wheel and felt heat coming from the brakes, did the same on the passenger¿s side with the same results. waited 30-40 minutes for them to cool down. tested braking in the turn our and proceeded home. 2/2010 (the next day) ¿ took truck back to midas (with approximately 24,000 miles) for them to inspect. the technician noticed the disk were ¿blue¿ and recommend they be replaced. he also showed me the rubber boots that were melted on the drivers side due to the extreme heat that was generated. i requested that midas change the brakes (which they did) and purchased new rotors as the technician had advised and they also exchanged the brake fluid. i had planned on taking the truck to the dealer to have the driver¿s side caliper replaced. 2/2010 (the following weekend) i took the vehicle to foothill ranch chevrolet and explained the events leading up to my visit. i explained to the service advisor that the driver¿s side caliper boots were burnt and i wanted them replaced. he noticed my concerns and took my vehicle. 2/2010 ¿ (the following wednesday) received call truck was ready and picked up and that my caliper had not been replaced as it was found to be in acceptable working order even with burnt boots. 3/2010 ¿ called 800-222-1020 (gm customer line) incident # 71-814348680 to lodge a complaint and ask for my drivers side caliper to be replaced. *dt.Mileage was 24000 miles. Gmc Sierra 1500 2008 Service Brakes, HydraulicGmc Sierra 1500 2008 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10376660 GMC SIERRA 1500 2008 car safety problem was reported on Dec 20, 2010.GMC SIERRA 1500 2008, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . brake rotors warped at 15k miles, had them turned under warranty at dealer vehicle was purchased from. at 30k miles rotors warped again, this time 1 brake pad was worn down to 2mm thick, the rest appear almost new in thickness. dealer turned rotors again and replaced pads for $200. requested and was denied that the brake work be covered under warranty by dealer and gm cs. i took old brake hardware home with me and still have it. i contend there is something wrong with the design or materials in the brake system of this truck causing premature wear and failure of "non warranty" brake items such as the pads and rotors. i contend that there has been a hanging brake pad causing the rotors to overheat and warp since the vehicle was new and any work performed at the time of the 15k mile rotor turning did not correct the problem. if brake work needs to be performed on this truck every 15k miles there is a reason that should be covered under warranty. one time freak failure i can see, two times evenly spaced at 15k mile intervals and i think something is wrong with the vehicles brakes design and/or materials. vehicle is daily driver, 15 miles a day to and from work. garaged during the winter, taken off road (frozen cornfields, dirt field roads) for a week in late fall. used to tow a fishing boat a few times a year. owner is a former ase certified mechanic and is not an aggressive user of the brakes. meaning i brake firmly and evenly when braking is needed, lifting my foot off the pedal once stopped and apply only enough pressure to hold vehicle still. *tr.Mileage was 33148 miles. Gmc Sierra 1500 2008 Reports
My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL and my climate control + button for the heat on the drivers side peeled off. Anyone out there having the same issue? It looks like the passengers side is doing the same. The abs activates at 10 km/h. blower speed switch burns up as soon as you turn it on,wipers hang up and stay on when switch is turned off
IT is stuck all pulled out , and will not rolll back in .
any idea on how to fix this .
