Saab 900 1995 Air Bags FrontalSaab 900 1995 Air Bags Frontal Review #733623 SAAB 900 1995 car safety problem was reported on Sept 08, 2000.SAAB 900 1995, manufactured by SAAB CARS USA, INC. had a problem with AIR BAGS:FRONTAL . as i was driving the car, a strange odor could be smelled in the car. i opened the driver's side window to determine if the odor was coming from outside or inside the car. as i realized the odor was coming from inside the car, the bottom two or three inches of the windshield began to fog up. i immediately turned off the main street to park the car and turn the engine off. just after i turned the corner, the passenger side air bag exploded. i immediately stopped the car, turned off the engine, and got out of the car. when the air bag exploded it ripped apart the top of the passenger side of the dashboard, it shattered the passenger side of the windshield, and it filled the car with fumes (eventhough the driver's side window was still all the way down). the explosion occured at approximately 7:30 p.m. on friday, september 8, 2000. the airbag exploded after the car had been driven approximately 3/4 of a mile. because it was friday evening, i had the car towed home. carter saab was contacted on monday and the car was towed to the dealership on tuesday. the car has very few miles on it and has never been in an accident. there has never been any damage to the car. all servicing to this car has been performed by carter saab, an authorized dealership and repair shop. all manufacturer's service and warranty work was performed by carter. all manufacturer's recall work was performed by carter. when i started the car the srs warning light appeared on the dashboard. before driving the car, i read the section concerning the air bag warning light in the owner's manual. the manual contains the instructions that the driver is to take the car to the nearest dealer immediately because the air bar may not activate in case of a collision..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):YS3DF75N5S7. Saab 900 1995 Vehicle Speed ControlSaab 900 1995 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10054892 SAAB 900 1995 car safety problem was reported on Jan 24, 2004.SAAB 900 1995, manufactured by SAAB CARS USA, INC. had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . at about 1000 a.m. ,my daughter jennifer age 19 was driving my 1995 saab 900se convertible on the nys thruway from albany to our home in utica , ny when she was approaching the herkimer t-way exit. she was going to exit the t-way there , so she started to slow down. she told me that when she stepped on the brakes the vehicle refused to slow down and began to gain speed. she says that when she took her foot off of the brake the car accelerated on its own from 55 mph to 85 mph in a matter of seconds . she says she became hysterical and began to place all of her weight on her foot and applied the brakes fully ,but to no avail. she says that the car was out of control and when the brakes finally slowed the vehicle just enough where she gained a little bit of control, she threw the transmission into park and turned the ignition off, steering to the side of the road. as you can see this could have had catastrophic results in any other circumstance. thank god that my daughter was not injured in any way other than her instant fear of driving a car again. the vehicle now is at the place of business where it was purchased and inquiries are being made at this time to see if anything like this has happened before with this saab product. damage to the vehicle is undetermined at this time , but suffice to say that the brakes were pretty much burned up. we would appreciate any assistance in this matter that you could give us. sincerely, rose mary dougherty *la.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Saab 900 1995 problem was reported in UTICA, NY. (manual transmission) the incident happened during rush hour heading toward london. as i had to slow down, i had absolutely no brakes! i never had any issue with the brakes prior. depressing the brake pedal did not disengage the cruise control and i was heading toward the rear end of a car at 70 mph. i quickly swerved to the left lane, then off the road to avoid hitting vehicles and causing a multi-car pile up and potentially many deaths. i flew off the road, through a 5" steel sign post and rolled several times in a field. amazingly, i was only bruised and battered, but of course the car is totaled. this is a potential serious defect! even if the car is 10 years old, if there is some type of corrosion that happens to cause a failure of brakes to disengage the cruise control, many lives will be lost. ironically, it was saab engineering that allowed me to walk out of the vehicle, while at the same time caused the accident. police and witnesses were on scene who saw my brake lights come on, yet not slow down. as i said, the brakes were fine and i can only assume this had something to do with the cruise control. the car will be inspected by uk's vosa. please advise. thank you charles earhart. *jb.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 125000 miles. Is there a safety recall for seatbelts on 1995 Saab 93s? Thank you. after driving car for 10 miles from being cold, the transmission fluid becomes under press in case. If I pull the dip stick out, the ATF blows out the tube. I took out the drain plug and the ATF shot of the case under pressure. Trans seems to s Had the DI casette replaced on 2002 9-5 3 years ago. Recently. Car wouldn't turn over and shop replaced crank shaft position sensor. Drove it and the car stalled out the next day. Shop said it was the alternator. Raplaced the alternator. Ne I started my 1997 Saab 900 the day after Christmas, put in in gear and drove about 2 blocks when I smelled what i guessed to be an elecrtical smell, with that the srs light came on, and a repair note came on the info screen. Before I could find a the parking brake lever on my 2004 saab had to be removed and fixed. I've tried replacing the cover, but now the brake won't release. can someone point me out to a diagram or blueprint of the parking lever so i can make sure i have all the working 2002 saab 9-3 automatic transmission will shift normally until the car warms up then it doesnt shift into 4th gear. does anyone know what may be causing this> Why dosevmy 93 covertable make a tick tick noice when I unlock the car? driving home going like a dream then just lost power and stopped.Wouldnot start.engine warm.engine turns over doesn't appear to want to spark any ideas as to the problem My trunk warning light comes on even though my trunk is closed.
