Jaguar Xk8 2000 Fuel System, GasolineJaguar Xk8 2000 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #732957 JAGUAR XK8 2000 car safety problem was reported on July 15, 2000.JAGUAR XK8 2000, manufactured by JAGUAR CARS LTD had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . we can smell gasoline in the passenger area of the car. it happens whether the windows are up or down, whether the air conditioning is on or off, whether the convertible top is up or down. usually happens in hot weather, but then again we have only owned and driven the car during the summer. the manufacturer feels that the problem is a combination of high altitude in the denver area, high ambient temperatures, and the fuel formulation in the denver area. they say it only happens in their 4.0 liter supercharged engines. the problem is intermittent. jaguar is in the process of buying our car back as they have not been able to correct the defect. it is happening to other customers as well. i feel that this is a safety defect and that the fuel fumes can lead to a fire in an accident or if the car is near an ignition source. these models should be recalled and a full refund given to the owners. thanks. *ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):SAJJA42B3YP. I have an 1998xj8 what does a dianostic cash to evaluate the car MY 2004 XJ8 WHEN SLOW DOWN TO STOP ONCE I STOP IT AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS CATCHING UP WITH FACT THAT I HAVE STOPPED IT JERKS ONE MORE TIME RIGHT ATER I STOP SOMEONE SAID IT MAY THE DOWNSHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION HELP ?? ABS, Traction control lights come on and then at times go away. I was told by a Jag service shop the partto correct this problem is in excess of $1400.00. 1997 Jag with 49.000 miles. Strong raw gasoline smell in cabin. JAG xk8, was there a recall on this problem? Jaguar 2010 XFR rear brakes replaced before front brakes @ 20,000. Recommended XJS 9999 Repair Procedures are welcome to all Jaguar owners who have to contend with problems relating to steering, hydraulic power assist, hose, piping and connections and a failed electrical software.
