My 01 xj8 has started to shift hard when it gets very ...

My 01 xj8 has started to shift hard when it gets very cold.Reverse is fine but, in D theres nothing until I swing to the left into manual mode and up to 3 then it shifts fine and when proper I pull it back to 4 and it's fine .Swing it right again into drive , it's fine. turn the engine off for a short time ,,,,starts all over again. It shifts only in manual mode What gives?

Wiper Blade Control doens't work... the "push button" to wash works, when you pull back on the lever, the intermittent switch works... all other functions work... I checked the fuse, it's OK... Kill the guy that designed the location of the 'cabin
