HONDA GL1800 2010 car safety problem was reported on Oct 13, 2011.HONDA GL1800 2010, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i had driven a couple miles, came to a red traffic light and stopped. i returned the motorcycle to neutral and waited for the light to change. when the light changed, i shifted into first gear, went to take off, throttled and eased out on the clutch. the bike did not respond as i let out on the clutch. at this point the motorcycle typically is already accelerating and it was not. within a second it took off as if something suddenly released and rose into a wheelie. the bike then landed 3 times on top of me and dragged me through the intersection before stopping just past the middle of the intersection. there were witnesses to this accident as well. i sustained injuries from this and the bike did as well. i required major knee surgery and i am still recovering. the bike is in the shop still waiting for parts. the recall for the rear brake was announced less than a month after my accident. i have talked repeatedly to the representatives at the honda dealership that is handling the repairs asking for them to check on it for the recall since i have no explanation for what occurred to me. they are eluding that its not likely to be the issue but have no other explanation to offer. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. HONDA GL1800 2010 car safety problem was reported on Apr 04, 2012.HONDA GL1800 2010, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, AIR . motorcycle was driven to the local dealer for recall inspection for the rear brake cylinder. dealer performed inspection and informed me that the motorcycle passed inspection and could be picked up. approximately 1 mile after departing the dealership the motorcycle began feeling sluggish and i pulled to the side of the road. when the brakes were applied they were extremely grabby and upon stopping i noticed a strong brake odor. after pulling to the side of the road i inspected the motorcycle and found the rear brake disc very hot with a burnt brake odor along with visible scuffing to the brake disc. i returned the bike to the dealership and was informed that they could find no cause for the problem. i contacted american honda and reported the issue and was told they would look into the issue. the bike has been at the dealership for two weeks and there has been no action regarding the reported problem. *js .Mileage was 16050 miles. HONDA GL1800 2010 car safety problem was reported on Apr 10, 2012.HONDA GL1800 2010, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with STEERING . the cycle has a front end wobble at speeds between 35-45. it requires that both hands are kept on the handlebars to avoid a crash. if i let go with one hand the wobble increases. i think the wobble increases the wear on the front tire and can also contribute to damage of other items. it is always uncomfortable especially going around corners where i have to fight the wobble with both hands. the front tire was changed and the steering bearings checked for tightness. all at my cost and the cycle still wobbles. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 8191 miles. HONDA GL1800 2010 car safety problem was reported on Aug 30, 2010.HONDA GL1800 2010, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . within the first months of riding, i began having problems with the multi functioning display (mfd) the display goes blank at start up and at traveling speeds. losing all data of mileage, gps directions, radio function. i have reported the problems several times, to the service manager. they held onto my bike for several days, nothing was done, and the problems persisted. i was told, ⿿we looked at your bike and we cannot duplicate the problem. i continued my complaints about the problems with my multi functioning display. i called honda customer service, with no results. this problems happens since new and i learned that several other owners have the same problems. what was most horrific, in june of 2013, i attempted to purchase an extended warranty. i was informed that my bike⿿s warranty expired in may of 2013. although i purchased my bike in august 2010, the manufacturer⿿s warranty expired may of 2013; a full three months before the original date of my purchase. now i must pay $2,500 to fix this problem. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1500 miles.
