Honda Fit 2009 VisibilityHonda Fit 2009 Visibility Review #10247753 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Oct 13, 2008.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with VISIBILITY . 2009 honda fit windshield restricts driver's view. the first time i drove my new base model 2009 honda fit in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic i discovered that i could not see enough through its too high, too narrow (from top to bottom) windshield to accurately position the fit behind the car in front of me. the dashboard in the 2009 fit slopes upward, not downward, to meet the windshield, and it meets the windshield at a point one to two inches higher than in any other vehicle i have ever driven. the result is that the upper edge of the dashboard blocks the driver's view of the road in front of the car. to see this, do this simple test. draw a "starting" line across a two lane driveway. park a 2009 fit base model and any other model of car side by side so that their front bumpers are at the "starting line". sit in the driver's seat of the fit and look through the windshield to find the first part of the road you can see. mark it mentally or have a friend chalk it for you. now sit in the other car's driver's seat and mark the first part of the road you can see. for me the first piece of visible road is 15 to 20 feet in front of the fit and 5 to 10 feet in front of a 2008 corolla. that loss of 10 feet of visible road directly in front of car becomes critical when driving at high speed in closely spaced traffic. it's also a threat when driving in a residential neighborhood where small children or their pets occasionally dart into the street. i survived a terrifying drive through rush hour traffic by leaving a lot of extra space between the fit and the car ahead of me. i returned the 2009 fit to the dealer who sold it to me. now i am driving a 2008 corolla. the corolla windshield and side windows provide an excellent 180 degree view of the road, both close to the car and farther away. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Honda Fit 2009 problem was reported in BATON ROUGE, LA. Honda Fit 2009 VisibilityHonda Fit 2009 Visibility Review #10283708 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Sept 10, 2009.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with VISIBILITY . while driving my 2009 honda fit around noon time, my windshield cracked. out of no where. the crack ran from the top - where it meets the roof - up to the point where the rear-view mirror attaches to the windshield, approximately 4 inches long. the next morning, i realized the crack had extended even further. now, the crack is about 10 inches long. the first thing i did was call america honda whom is responsible for honda care warranty and they told me windshields were not covered by honda care, even though i claimed that could be a defect and could harm the safety of the driver and the passenger. after talking with america honda, i called the dealer from which the 2009 honda fit was purchased and all they told me was to file a comprehensive complaint with my car insurance. the insurance then informed me that it would cost about $425.00 to repair a defect, which i believe honda should be held responsible for, since that could very well be a manufacture defect. *tr.Mileage was 5900 miles. Honda Fit 2009 VisibilityHonda Fit 2009 Visibility Review #10295414 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Dec 08, 2009.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with VISIBILITY . i went to my car on a cold morning and found a crack which was not there when i parked the car the night before. it was a linear crack about 6 inches long extending straight from the middle bottom of the front windshield. no evidence of anything striking the windshield or car. no debris. no obvious chip. i drove to dealer the next and they tried to tell me there was a "chip", which was smaller than a pinhead which they felt indicated that it was an impact fracture. when pressed on why it wasn't a thermal or stress fracture, the service manager even once said "yes, it's a thermal fracture, but it was caused by an impact. the area where the "chip" was above the original extent of the original crack and was in a region of spread which developed later, after driving the car to the dealership. the service manager said that can happen, with the crack starting at a point separate from the impact site. the entire length of the crack is about 18 inches currently. the service manager, general manager, and regional service manager all claim that this is a impact fracture and refuse to cover it under the warranty. the service manager avoids phones calls. the general manager refuses to give me a written attestation that this is an impact fracture and refuses to deal with me. the regional service representative cannot be contacted and does not deal with consumers. the honda customer service representative said that i could take it to a different dealer, but warned that they probably answer to the same district service manager. *tr.Mileage was 5700 miles. Honda Fit 2009 VisibilityHonda Fit 2009 Visibility Review #10331132 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on May 14, 2010.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with VISIBILITY . this complaint regards a 2009 honda fit that we have/had owned for a little over one year. last saturday, when my husband was turning left into our driveway, and so was going quite slow, he turned into a person who was coming straight toward him on the other side of the road. she was approaching by coming up a moderate incline, but well noticeable by any other car that i have driven. we have owned this property for over 30 years and there has been no other trouble in this vicinity. i have been very leery of driving the fit since a few days after purchase because of the blind spots that i noticed when driving the car. the same kind of accident has almost happened to me and to my husband several other times with this car, the 2009 honda fit, since our ownership of it. the major problem has been the a-pillars in the large front window. the first time that i noticed it was a few days after ownership in 2009, a person stepped off a curb as i was turning, and i did not initially see him. fortunately, i did see him as the car moved and the blind spot was no longer impeding my view. unfortunately for my husband, when he turned last saturday there was a significant accident with hopefully minor injuries, and the fit was totaled by the insurance company. the other driver involved also sustained significant damage and was taken to the hospital to be checked for injury. there is no way for us to correct this problem, but i hope that someone will take a look at this issue so that injury and damage and possibly, death, can be avoided for others. except for this significant safety problem, the car fit our lifestyle perfectly, but i will never own another as long as this problem persists. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 2 person(s) were injured. Honda Fit 2009 TiresHonda Fit 2009 Tires Review #10336690 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on June 04, 2010.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with TIRES . on may 21, 2010. my daughter had a blow out on her 2009 honda fit sport that she purchased in february. two weeks previously, she had the oil changed and the tires rotated by the dealer and no problems where reported. on may 21st, she was driving down hwy 99 at 65 mph, when the low tire pressure light came on. before she could figure out what the light meant, the back rear driver's side tire blew. it was completely separated from the wheel itself at the wheel with some rubber still attached to the wheel. we were assisted off the highway by chp because the location was too dangerous to wait for a tow. we had aaa respond and put on the spare and we drove it to the dealer. there were no obvious signs of damage to the tire, except for the blowout. i had the dealer replace the tire (they waived the labor) and had them thoroughly inspect the remaining tires for damage. two weeks later, on june 4th, the front drivers side tire blew out with no warning at all. she is certain that there were no potholes or debris in the roadway. she barely maintained control of the vehicle and got it off the roadway. chp responded to assist her. there was a fist sized hole in the tire in the sidewall and the rim was severely bent. the tow truck driver who responded advised that it appeared to be a faulty tire. we took the car back to our dealer. again, they are claiming it had to be a road hazard. i am extremely concerned for my daughter's safety driving the car. i have asked them to inspect and put in writing that there is nothing wrong with the remaining tires or to replace the two left from the initial batch of tires, but they are refusing. *tr.Mileage was 7000 miles. Honda Fit 2009 Electrical System WiringHonda Fit 2009 Electrical System Wiring Review #10357477 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Aug 01, 2010.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING . i purchased a honda fit in july of 2009. i have driven it 5800 miles. the following is a description of a major problem that has recently occurred: 1. in august of 2010 my abs light came on. 2. i took the car to my honda dealer and was told that rodents had eaten the wiring. i was told that it was not covered by the warranty and that the cost to fix it could be as high as $1000. needless to say i was shocked. 3. when i brought the car home i discovered that the covering on the oxygen sensor wiring and the covering on the wiring to the fan had also been chewed although the wiring was still intact. 4. here is what is so shocking about this situation. my 2009 honda fit is parked 30 feet from my 2005 honda element. the 5 year old element has no sign of rodent activity and has no wiring problems. i called the america honda motor co. customer service 800 number and reported the above. the report has been given a case #. i also did a google search [automobile wiring and rodents/honda wiring and rodents]. the search turned up many references to this problem in honda automobiles and other manufacturer's automobiles. the search also uncovered many references to the recent use of soy in automobile wiring covering. if this is true it could explain why my 2005 element has not been attacked while my 2009 fit has been. it would also indicate a glaring defect in some auto electrical wiring. i am now dealing with the problem by leaving my fit in with my dogs and letting them urinate on the tires. as of now this seems to be working. obviously this is a lousy solution to the problem. in summation, i now have no abs. i do not feel i should have to pay $1000 for rodent damage to wiring that was likely caused by rodent attractive wire covering and may reoccur. this is an expensive problem. it is also a safety problem. that is why i am registering this problem with the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa). updated ivoq 10/15/10 *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JHMGE88299S. Honda Fit 2009 Vehicle Speed ControlHonda Fit 2009 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10658645 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Nov 04, 2014.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i was driving a 2009 honda fit sport into a parking space at the store with my foot on the brake and speed was appropriate for pulling into a parking space ( approx. 3-5 mph.). at approx. 4-6ft from the parking cement block of the space, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated with a violent surge and the rpm needle shot up to the top of the gauge and with in seconds i hit the large cement/metal handicapped sign/pole at the front of the parking space. the engine was still making the loud reving noise after the collision and the only way to stop it was to take out the keys. the only thing that stopped the car was the cement/metal pole. the car jumped the parking block and hit the pole. if the pole had not been there, somebody could have been killed as this car was no longer under my power.the airbag went off and i have serious contusions on my chest and side ( i assume from the airbag and seatbelt) and my right leg was injured as well. the bumper, hood and airbag, seatbelt were damaged, but the engine had no damage as far as i could tell. i contacted the dealership (west hills honda bremerton) where the car was bought and serviced regularly and they said they couldn't help or did not want to. the service manager mike, called and left a message saying he has heard of this happening, but to call honda america, which i did. the claims rep. (jennifer p.) for honda america had us meet a field rep.(robert) at dealership to perform tests. and of course they found no problem. as a sua does not leave a footprint when it happens. they did find obd2 codes po171 and po400 and said they were caused by crash. they also said the tire pressure light code was appearing even though the tires were fine when checked. the service manager mike said it could be an electronic problem. hmm do you thing the electronic throttle cable might have a problem too? i will be seeking legal help!.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 38620 miles. Honda Fit 2009 Exterior LightingHonda Fit 2009 Exterior Lighting Review #10663071 HONDA FIT 2009 car safety problem was reported on Dec 02, 2014.HONDA FIT 2009, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with EXTERIOR LIGHTING . blinker on the right side became inoperative and inside indicator blinked quickly. upon investigation discovered the blinker bulb was good but the headlight was very dim and almost out. high beam would only come on slightly. the other side of the car was fine. checked online and, as suspected, there was some repair notices about the corrosion on the ground connector due to poor plating which caused the problem. it appears that honda may have bad ground terminals or other connection problem on their safety lighting system. called honda dealer and then honda american. they indicated this was not a warranty problem so would not cover it. i believe this kind of problem will result in many cars having partial headlights and is a safety related failure in a critical system and should be covered under a recall. the headlights and turn signal could be on and off without notice. this is a low mileage car and not even in a rust belt part of the country. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 39216 miles. My 94 GL 1500 sends off a vibration when you let off the gas...traveling at 80-90 +mph or so it will rumble until you slow to about 60 mph ....a little scary, it makes me think its going to lock up...I had a previous 94 gl that did the same thing my 2003 Honda Accord started with replacing power steering pump then power steering hose{recall} now I have a leaking power steering rack seems all connected to me should be a recall for the rack also? Is it possbile for wheel cyclinder to be leaking after only 20,000 miles on a 2003 Civic Honda? 2005 Honda CRV - Front struts noisy over small bumps in road Since new problems have included pull to the right, grinding noise from rear diff, crack in windhshield all across the bottom of the glass from side to side no chipping just a long horizontal crack just above the dash line. Front struts make a hug the check engine light is staying on on my cbr1000rr 06. do you have to adjust the valves and fuel when you remove baffles from a 1995 honda 750 magna????
