Just bought a used 1998 Mazda Miata, there is a gas ...

Just bought a used 1998 Mazda Miata, there is a gas smell in the trunk and inside the car when I first get in it after it's been parked. I have a check light that comes on for a few days and then goes off. Now the horn has working. There is also condensation in the trunk after it's been driven? Do I need your advice or what?
