04 kia sorento , it is doing this jerk and the ck engine light came on and went right back off.  then it jerked ck engine light came on and the car shut down. i started it back up and it was fine, did the jerk thing again, but no ck light, got the oil changed checked the trans oil. it was fine.

troubleshooting including removing and checking the cannister, which was fine. I
finally found a 1-way check valve that was installed backwards (at the factory).

Thanks, this will help with the identical problem with my amanti. I went to the dealer and they didn't know what the problem was. They wanted to change the charcoal filter because gas was in it, but not the source of the problem.
