Drove to work this morning and arrived to work fine but when I parked and put the Escape into Park, the engine throttled up to 4000 RPM. Gas peddle doesn't seam to be stuck; returns to normal position (so it seems). When I push the pedal down the engine will rev up in sound just a little but doesn't register in RPM's. I shut engine off and the engine reved to a stop. I started the vehicle up and with out hitting the throttle, the engine reved to the starters rev speed which appears to be around 2k RPM but slowly increases up to 4k RPM at a 1K RPM every couple seconds.
My situation is URGENT!! I work 78 miles from home everyday and am now stranded at work with no option to get home. Money is tight but if it's a part I need I hopefully can affoard that and hopefully replace that my self. Any help or suggestion would be very much appreciated.
