Pontiac Torrent Fuel/propulsion System Safety Report | July 02, 2012
Reported on July 02, 2012
A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE COMING FROM REAR OF CAR WHILE RUNNING AND AFTER TURNED OFF. TROUBLE STARTING CAR ON FIRST TURN OF THE KEY. TOOK TO DEALER AND THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER SAID AS SOON AS WE TOOK IT TO BE ASSESSED IT WAS EITHER THE GAS TANK OR FUEL PUMP AND COULD BE VERY COSTLY TO FIX. IF THE DEALERS ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS? ISN'T THIS A SAFETY ISSUE? LUCKILY I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS OVER 800 DOLLARS TO FIX. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, SO WHY HAVE THE PARTS NOT BEEN RECALLED? *TR | |
