SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE APPEARED ON LCD DISPLAY, PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT TURN ON WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE IT SEEMS THAT THIS SENSOR FAILURE IS A PERVASIVE ISSUE AND SHOULD RESULT IN A RECALL DUE TO ITS DIRECTLY PREVENTING THE FUNCTION OF A CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM INTENDED TO SAVE LIVES. IF THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT FALL UNDER FEDERAL GUIDELINES FOR A NECESSARY RECALL, GM SHOULD INSTITUTE A GOOD-CONSCIENCE RECALL DUE TO THE PROHIBITIVE COST OF REPLACEMENT OF THIS SIMPLE SENSOR (<$800). *TR | |
