Pontiac Pontiac Fuel System, Other Storage Fuel Gauge System Safety Report | Dec 16, 2006
Reported on Dec 16, 2006
GM HAS PROBLEMS WITH ERRATIC FUEL SENSORS, AND THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR PEOPLE WHO TRAVEL A LOT AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH GAS THEY HAVE, OR DON'T HAVE IN THEIR CARS. I HAVE BROKE DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOWSTORM, ON A BUSY EXPRESSWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE MY GAS GAUGE WAS READING WRONG. THAT WAS IN ME 1991 CHEVROLET LUMINA. THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING WITH MY 2003 PONTIAC GRAND AM. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WHOLE THING SHOULD BE RECALLED BEING THAT IT IS NOT COVERED IN LEMON LAW FOR NEW YORK STATE AND A COSTLY REPAIR $(200-300 FOR THE PARTS) AND ADD ON THE $70 AN HOUR FOR LABOR. *JB | |
