TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, BUT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INSTEAD. THE SPEED INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. SHE CONTINUED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SLID THE GEAR INTO PARK, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP MOVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF BUILD-UP IN SOME PARTS OF THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC FURTHER STATED THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE BUILT TO WITHSTAND THESE ISSUES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000. | |
