ON 3/15/10 THE HOOD OF MY CAR WAS SMOKING. I CONTACT GMC REGARDING RECALL ON MY PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 2003. I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE CAR IN TO DEALER TO GET RECALL FIXED. THEY CLAIM THEY FIXED THE RECALL PROBLEM. I LEFT DEALER SHIP AND THE HOOD OF MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE AFTER LEAVING 5 MIN UP THE STREET TO A SERVICE CENTER. I WAS ADVISED TO TOW MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY ARE CLAIMING THE RECALL WAS FIXED. HOWEVER, THE VERY SAME THING THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR HAPPENED. I AM IN FEAR OF DRIVING THIS CAR AGAIN UNLESS I KNOW THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. MY CONCERN IS, IF THEY CLAIM THE RECALL PROBLEM WAS FIXED WHAT CAUSED THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO CATCH ON FIRE. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I AM FEARFUL FOR MY SAFETY OF MY LIFE AND OTHERS IF MY CAR IS NOT REPAIRED LIKE THEY CLAIM THAT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME. PLEASE ADVISE ME IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO ASSURE MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. THEY HAVE BEEN GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND AND STATED THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO REPAIR CAR WITHOUT CHARGE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE ESTIMATE OF REPAIRING THE HOOD OF MY CAR AND THE AIR TAKE CAP AND THE GAS COVER TANK. THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT THERE WAS A SLUDGE OIL BUILD UP AND THE OIL IS NOT DRAINING TO THE GASKET AND THE GASKET COULD COME APART AND THIS MAY CAUSE ANOTHER FIRE. PLEASE ADVISE IF THERE IS ANY LEGAL ACTION I CAN FILE AGAINST GMC AND JIM HUDSON GMC. *TR
