Pontiac Grand Am Visibility Power Window Devices And Controls Safety Report | June 01, 1995

Reported on June 01, 1995

BOTH DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW MOTORS CONTINUE TO FAIL AT INCREASING RATE. I HAVE REPLACED THEM BOTH 4 TIMES. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD BE DUE TO FAILURE OF THE REGULATORS, CAUSING THE MOTOR TO BURN UP. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, WINDOWS ARE COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. PROBLEM IS EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR, AND CONTINUALLY PULLING INTERIOR DOOR PANEL OFF IS CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE FASTENERS. DURING THE FIRST FAILURE, IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND FAILURE, I PAID HALF. THIRD AND FOURTH I PAID FULL COST. THERE MUST BE MORE PEOPLE OUT THERE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN TAMPA, FLORIDA, BUT ALL SERVICE IS DONE AT MOORE BUICK. THEY MAY HAVE MY LAST NAME AS DEBERRY-MY MAIDEN NAME. THANK YOU SERGEANT ALICIA R. BOSSHART USMC. *AK
