Pontiac Grand Am Engine And Engine Cooling Engine Safety Report | May 11, 2006
Reported on May 11, 2006
I HAVE A '99 PONTIAC GRAND AM WITH 65,000 MILES WITH A DEFECTIVE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT ISSUE IN CANADA AND IS A COMMON ISSUE IN THE USA ALSO. GM IS NOT ISSUING A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THERE IS EVIDENCE THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART (OR DEFECTIVE BECAUSE OF THE DEXCOOL COOLANT). I SPOKE WITH GM AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT A RECALL ITEM AND THE CAR WAS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. FORTUNATELY, THIS PROBLEM WAS RECOGNIZED AND REMEDIED PRIOR TO RUINING THE ENGINE. THE REPAIR BILL WAS $558.84. *NM | |
