RECALL 00V287 000/ENGINE STARTER: VEHICLE SMOKED WHEN STARTING ITSELF UP WHILE PARKED. LATER, RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL ON ENGINE STARTER. CALLED DEALER (PREMIER PONTIAC, BUICK, GMC; KINGWOOD, TX; PHONE# 281/359-3600), AND INFORMED OF PROBLEM AND RECALL NOTICE. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMERTHAT THEY WILL REPAIRS ALL DAMAGES DUE TO RECALL. LATER ON, INFORMED THAT OTHER DAMAGES WHICH WERE NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL WOULD BE REPAIRED AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. HOWEVER, DAMAGES WAS DUE TO DEFECTIVE ENGINE STARTER, AND DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR IT. SEEKING HELP FROM NHTSA IN THIS MATTER: ALSO FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
