TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH , THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WITH EXTREME FORCE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY NEED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
