AFTER RETURNING FROM A SHORT TRIP, I NOTICED THE SMELL OF GASOLINE AROUND THE CAR. AFTER CHECKING UNDER NEATH THE CAR. GASOLINE SEEPAGE WAS OBSERVED ON THE SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK. (NOT FILLER NECK) AFTER DROPPING THE CAR OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP WERE IT WAS PURCHASED, THE FAULTY PART WAS DETERMINED TO BE A FUEL PUMP NIPPLE WAS LEAKING.THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED FOR A MERE $998.75. THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE TANK AND IS TOTALLY PROTECTED AND SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. THE CAR HAS ONLY 52,000 MILES ON IT. *TR | |
