Pontiac G6 Fuel/propulsion System Safety Report | Dec 04, 2012
Reported on Dec 04, 2012
I HAVE A PONTIAC G6 AND WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED, THE DASH WOULD SAY CHECK GAS CAP. I BOUGHT LIKE 3 OR 4 NEW GAS CAPS AND THE WARNING CONTINUED. WHILE MY CAR IS PARKED, A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE CAN BE SMELLED. SEEMS PRETTY DANGEROUS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THE FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN THEY TOOK IT APART THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS BROKEN ALSO. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. *TR | |
