Nissan Murano Seats Safety Report | Aug 19, 2012

Reported on Aug 19, 2012

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVERS SEAT FRAME. THE METAL ULTIMATELY BREAKS DUE TO STRESS LEAVING THE SEAT ON A TILT . IT ALSO CAUSES THE BACK PORTION OF THE SEAT TO NOT BE STABLE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THIS. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND NUMEROUS SITES ON THE INTERNET OUTLINING THIS PROBLEM. IT IS MY OPINION THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL SHOULD SENT OUT. THE DEALER THAT I TOOK MY CAR TO FOR REPAIR WAS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND SAID THAT IT HAD BEEN CORRECTED IN NEW MODELS BUT NO RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED DUE TO EXPENSE TO NISSAN. THEY DID SUGGEST A NEW SEAT FRAME FOR $1600.
