Nissan Murano Fuel System, Gasoline Storage Tank Assembly Filler Pipe And Cap Safety Report | Feb 11, 2007

Reported on Feb 11, 2007

PROBLEM (CONTINUING TO) FILL-UP WITH FUEL WHEN USING GAS PUMPS WITH VAPOR RECOVERY: FOR THE MOST PART, THE PUMP TRIGGER SHOULD NOT BE OPENED TO MAXIMUM OTHERWISE WILL TRIGGER A SHUT-OFF; HOWEVER, IF A SLIGHT JERK BACK OF THE PUMP OCCURS, WILL TRIGGER A STOP AND CAN NO LONGER CONTINUE FILL-UP EVEN THOUGH THE TANK IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING TOPPED OFF. RESEARCHING THE WEB HAD REVEALED THAT THIS HAPPENS TO MANY LATER-MODEL VEHICLES. *NM
