Mercury Grand Marquis Seats Safety Report | Feb 12, 1999
Reported on Feb 12, 1999
WHEN WE 1ST BOUGHT THE CAR THE DRIVERS SEAT HAD A LOT OF MOVEMENT. BROUGHT IT TO DEALER AND THE REPLACED THE FRAME. THAT WAS IN 1994. IN 1997 I WAS DRIVING AND THE ENTIRE SEAT CAME OFF THE FRAME. I WAS TOLD THE IT NEEDED TO BE WELDED BACK ON AND I PAID OVER $300. TWO YEARS LATER THE SEAT HAS BROKEN FROM THE TRACK AGAIN. I DON'T TRUST THAT THE SEAT IS SAFE. I CALLED FORD AND THE SAID THEY WOULDN'T PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER BREAK NO LESS 3 TIMES AND I SHOULDN'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CAR DEALER THAT FIXED IT THE LAST TIME ALSO SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. PLEASE HELP!!! THE CAR IS NOT A STATION WAGON AND I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT. | |
