Mercury Grand Marquis Electrical System Ignition Switch Safety Report | July 15, 2000
Reported on July 15, 2000
MY IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND THE LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION. IT TOOK ME THE BETTER PART OF 10 MINUTES OF ROCKING THE STEERING WHEEL BACK ANFD FORTH BEFORE I COULD GET THE KEY OUT. ALSO, ONE I GOT THE KEY OUT AND STARTED THE ENGINE, AND THEN SHUT IT DOWN. AT THIS TIME THE KEY CAME OUT WHEN I PUT THE LEVER IN PARK, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT LOCK. *AK | |
