Kia Amanti 2005 Exterior Lighting HeadlightsKia Amanti 2005 Exterior Lighting Headlights Review #10147928 KIA AMANTI 2005 car safety problem was reported on Jan 13, 2006.KIA AMANTI 2005, manufactured by KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC. had a problem with EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS . the newer high intensity headlights should be done away with! in order to continue driving on the freeway at night when a vehicle equipped with those bright headlights is approaching in any lane, i must put my left hand & arm up to shield my eyes. i find those lights to be blinding as soon as that car comes into view, even a mile or more down the road. what kind of advantage does it give that other driver to see an extra 50 yards down the road, if it causes someone to have an accident on the other side of the road??! the hid lights are dangerous to other drivers! even with my rearview mirror deflected for glare, those lights are far too bright & when a car with hid's is sitting on my 'shoulder', i have to turn both my rearview mirror & side mirrors down so i can continue to drive. and, yes, i slow down & let them go past me, but just want to let you know my opinion & request that hid's should be hid for good, in the trash! *nm.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):2. Kia Amanti 2005 Fuel System, GasolineKia Amanti 2005 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #10162359 KIA AMANTI 2005 car safety problem was reported on June 19, 2006.KIA AMANTI 2005, manufactured by KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC. had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . on window sticker states car should average 17 miles per gallon city, and 25 miles per gallon on highway. over a nine month test which i kept a record of date, total miles on car, miles driven, total gas to refill tank, and miles per gallon the best mileage we got was 14.51 city. the best overall mileage was 17.55 miles and that was a trip to the coast. we took the car to the dealer and he claims that there is nothing wrong with the engine. this is my wife's car and we do not drive it that much because of the price of gas. we were misled by the window sticker and we feel that the nhtsa should make the manufacturer state the correct findings on mileage for this car. i am caught between a hard place and a rock for my wife likes the car and i feel it is a piece of crap. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 3390 miles. Kia Amanti 2005 Vehicle Speed ControlKia Amanti 2005 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10166377 KIA AMANTI 2005 car safety problem was reported on Aug 22, 2006.KIA AMANTI 2005, manufactured by KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC. had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . my 2005 kia amanti has an intermittent problem with the accelerator, after backing up, when the car is put into drive and the gas pedal depressed, nothing happens. the car will not accelerate, even when the pedal is depressed all the way to the floor. the engine does not rev; the car just idles and won't accelerate. at other times, the slightest touch of the gas pedal can cause the car to lurch forward briefly. i have taken it to the kia dealership three times. they say they have never heard of this problem, although if i google "amanti accelerator problems" i find dozens of complaints about this. my dealer insists that until they can duplicate the problem at the dealership there is nothing that can be done. i am concerned that this may cause an accident and would like to get this fixed, if i only knew how. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 13700 miles. Kia Amanti 2005 Power TrainKia Amanti 2005 Power Train Review #10547248 KIA AMANTI 2005 car safety problem was reported on Sept 18, 2012.KIA AMANTI 2005, manufactured by Kia Motors Corporation had a problem with POWER TRAIN . i absolutely love this car. however, i am afraid to drive it most of the time do to intermittent problems with acceleration. at times, when i step down on the gas nothing happens, then all of a sudden the car takes off like a rabbit. on a trip to south dakota, after using the blinker to change lanes, the blinkers went crazy, both on at the same time, then from one side to the other, i couldn't get them to stop and the esc light was flashing. i pulled over and shut the car off and back on and all was good ,for a few more miles anyway. i had to do this several times on my way home. this was scary as i was 1500 miles from home. haven't had that issue since and that was 4 months ago (no engine light for codes at this point). now, all of a sudden the car is running like crap. engine light finally came on and the code is stating misfire in #3 spark plug. the car is running very poorly, undriveable. i have had nothing but issues with this car since i bought it a year ago. i have read changing the throttle positioning sensor and updating the computer software may be what's wrong. however, trying to convince kia to do this is another ball game. there is also a high priority recall on the stop lamp switch, recall #sc077. also see technical service bulletin #kt2007030801. there are numerous complaints about the acceleration issue, some involving accidents. why wont kia acknowledge this and offer a recall on the tps and a reflash on the computer??? all we get is the run-a-round and the shop not hearing of such a thing. really???? come on!!!!! *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 91575 miles. Kia Amanti 2005 Engine Review #10610291 KIA AMANTI 2005 car safety problem was reported on July 17, 2012.KIA AMANTI 2005, manufactured by Kia Motors Corporation had a problem with ENGINE . when driving the engine suddenly quits, the car jerks, and the accelerator does not work. i have to coast to the side of the road and restart the car. this is a huge safety issue since there is no warning before this happens. another issue is the engine revving upon starting. i have to hold the brake firmly because the car will intermittently lurch either forward or back without warning. i have also had the car try to lurch forward at a stoplight. i have to keep the brake firmly depressed since it is an intermittent problem. i cannot believe this model has not been recalled. it is a definite danger to driver, passengers, and others. i have read many complaints online with regard to this problem, but still no recall. i would participate in a class action suit. i talked with the dealer and kia and they are no help..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 131000 miles.
