Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 2009 Fuel System, Gasoline Storage Tank AssemblyJeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 2009 Fuel System, Gasoline Storage Tank Assembly Review #10260693 JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009 car safety problem was reported on Mar 03, 2009.JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009, manufactured by CHRYSLER LLC had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY . purchased new 2009 jeep rubicon and picked it up at the dealership on wed. 3/3/09 with 6 miles on the odometer. drove less than 2 miles to private property and drove up dirt hill (nothing that a jeep couldn't handle) & it got stuck. left rear wheel wasn't turning even though in 4w low. the wheel should have been able to move the entire vehicle since it was in 4-wheel drive. the driver got out to check the wheel and the fire was under the back of the vehicle & a loose hose was leaking some liquid. the driver tried to put out fire and was unable to. the fuel tank cracked (unkown if due to fire or if it caused the fire) and jeep continued to burn since tank was full. the vehicle is a complete loss. driver sustained second degree burns to right hand and his legs. no other injuries. the car fire started a small grass fire that was quickly contained. no structures were damaged, less than an acre burned. the dealership towed away the car for inspection. it is still unknown as to the reason for the wheel failure and the start of the fire. *tr.Vehicle was on fire. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 8 miles. Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 2009 Structure Review #10311090 JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 2010.JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with STRUCTURE . after removing the rear-mounted spare tire on my 2009 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon (4 door, 4wd) i noticed that the outer insulation (conduit) protecting the wiring harness for the third brake light had rubbed against the hard plastic grommet where the wiring harness exits the rear (outside) panel of the tailgate. the insulation had rubbed down to the point that the inner wires and their insulation were showing. this is a safety defect since, if not addressed, the rubbing would eventually go through the insulation on the wires, causing a short in close proximity to the spare tire. i reported my findings to jeep customer service and also took the vehicle to my local dealer. the dealer replaced the oem grommet with a rubber piece, and then ordered and installed a new wiring harness. *tr.Mileage was 6500 miles. Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 2009 Traction Control SystemJeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 2009 Traction Control System Review #10354458 JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009 car safety problem was reported on Sept 08, 2010.JEEP WRANGLER 4-DR 4X4 2009, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM . i bought my 2009 jeep wrangler around october, november 2009, used with about 16,000 miles from world car nissan with a one hundred thousand mile warranty. the jeep came with an after market lift kit of approx 4 inches with 33 inch toyo open country tires "rancho shocks, sky jacker lift" world car told me the jeep came like this originally from the dealer. world car encouraged me to take the jeep and test drive it for a couple of days. after returning the jeep i told them that i liked the jeep but it had handling issues on the road. while test driving the jeep on normal roads i noticed the jeep would track hard and pull to the left and to the right almost causing me to run off the road on multiple occasions. world car said they would check out the front end alignment and balance the tires. i purchased the jeep. when picking up the jeep they told me they took care of all the problems. jeep assured me the handling issues were due to the lift and larger tires. about two weeks later leaving work i turned a corner and my right front tire started klunking and wobbling. the right front tire was missing 4 of 5 lug nuts and had one broken stud. only one lug nut was holding my tire on. the jeep had to be towed. world car gave me a loaner car, repaired the problem, with no apology and no explanation. around july 2009, i drove to port arkansas texas, i drove to the beach. i only drove in the normal traffic lanes no four wheeling. the next week on friday while driving down ih 35 the vehicle suddenly jerked to the left almost causing me to have an accident. on saturday i noticed the right rear shock hanging down.the upper shock support pin was broken off. jeep accused me of four wheeling and abusing the jeep, they repaired it at no cost to me. some times the traction control system comes on pre-maturely while making corners making the jeep hard to handle. now the esp bas light came on and stays on. on jeepforum.com esp bas failure appears to be a common problem. *tr.Mileage was 33600 miles.
