Hyundai Sonata Structure Frame And Members Underbody Shields Safety Report | Nov 29, 2013

Reported on Nov 29, 2013

A WELD HOLDING THE FRONT SUBFRAME ASSEMBLY TO THE MAIN FRAME FAILED, ALLOWING THE SUBFRAME TO SEPARATE FROM THE FRAME. THIS STRESS CAUSED THE SWAY BAR LINK END TO BREAK, CAUSING REDUCED CORNERING STABILITY, TRACTION, AND A LOUD THUMPING SOUND WHEN THE CAR EXPERIENCES WEIGHT SHIFTS TO THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THE SERVICING DEALER INFORMS ME THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION. *TR
