Hyundai Entourage Latches/locks/linkages Safety Report | Oct 14, 2009

Reported on Oct 14, 2009

THE HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR ROUGHLY 30K MILES NOW WITH THE SLIDING DOORS USED DAILY. NOW EACH TIME THE DOORS ARE CLOSED THEY HIT THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ARE CHIPPING AWAY AT THE PAINT, AND TO A LESSER DEGREE THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK IN THE OPEN POSITION WHICH CAN BE A MAJOR PROBLEM ON INCLINES. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER REPORTS THAT THE DOORS ARE WITHIN SPECS, BUT I DON'T SEE HOW THE DOOR CAN BE WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS AND BE HITTING THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
