Honda Fit Seats Mid/rear Assembly Safety Report | Aug 06, 2007
Reported on Aug 06, 2007
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. WHILE BUCKLING HIS GRANDCHILD INTO THE BACK SEAT, THE CONTACT REALIZED THAT THE SEAT BENCH IN THE REAR WAS RAISED. HE BELIEVES THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT BECAUSE IF THE VEHICLE WERE REAR-ENDED, THE SEAT WOULD JUMP AND CAUSE THE BOOSTER SEAT AND CHILD TO BE UPROOTED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY COMPARED IT TO THREE OTHER NEW MODELS, WHICH WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE SAME MANNER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND NUMBER OF CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 11,000. | |
