TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC DX VP (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STANDSTILL, THE DRIVER WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR. UPON IMPACT, THE REAR DOOR SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED AS WELL AS THE DRIVER FRONT AND DOOR AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FRACTURING HER RIBS. HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED SO THAT THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS SHOULD ONLY DEPLOY WHEN THERE WAS IMPACT TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ONLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO BE INVESTIGATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000. | |
