Ford Escape Vehicle Speed Control Safety Report | June 30, 2013
Reported on June 30, 2013
CAR STALLED AND QUICKLY SLOWED DOWN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND HAD TO PULL ONTO A NARROW SHOULDER WITH LOTS OF DEBRIS. CAR WOULD THEN ALLOW ME TO SPEED UP AGAIN AND REPEAT THE RAPID STALL UNTIL ULTIMATELY GOING INTO LIMP MODE. WAS LATER FOUND TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY THAT WAS SAID TO BE ON BACK-ORDER FOR THREE WEEKS SINCE SO MANY OTHERS WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR ESCAPES AND THAT FORD HAD A REDESIGN IN WORK. HAD TO PAY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY CO-PAY SINCE FORD HAS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR | |
