Ford Escape Vehicle Speed Control Safety Report | Apr 19, 2013
Reported on Apr 19, 2013
AS I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP POSITION SUCH AS A STOP SIGN, TRAFFIC LIGHT OR ACCELERATE TRYING TO GO UP AN INCLINE OR BRIDGE THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER. THE ENGINE STILL RUNS AND THE POWER STEERING STILL WORKS BUT AS YOU TRY AND PRESS DOWN ON THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENS. EVENTUALLY THE CAR STOPS AND BEGINS TO SPUTTER. I TURN OFF THE CAR AND THEN START IT UP. THE CAR WORKS FINE FOR A FEW MILES BUT THE SITUATION HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR | |
