Ford Escape Fuel/propulsion System Safety Report | Aug 15, 2013
Reported on Aug 15, 2013
ENGINE LOST POWER BUT DID NOT DIE. IT WOULD STILL CREEP ALONG ABOUT 2 MPH. THE GEAR LIGHT WAS SHOWING ON THE DASH. THE OBD CODE WAS READ BY A LOCAL AUTO PARTS SHOP AS P2112 -- THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM - STUCK CLOSED. RECOMMENDED ACTION FROM FORD WAS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. I PURCHASED THE PART FROM A LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR $324 PLUS TAX AND INSTALLED MYSELF. PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. *TR | |
