Ford Escape Engine Safety Report | June 06, 2013
Reported on June 06, 2013
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE SUDDENLY WOULD NO LONGER RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER PULLING OVER AND RESTARTING THE CAR, THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, AFTER A FEW DAYS THE PROBLEM HAPPENED TWICE MORE, THIS TIME WITH THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY DOWN A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. THE GARAGE DETERMINED THERE TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR | |
