Chevrolet S10 Structure Body Tailgate Hinge And Attachments Safety Report | Nov 22, 2006

Reported on Nov 22, 2006

WHILE DEER HUNTING IN MAINE IN NOV 06 I WAS TAKING THE DEER OFF THE ROOF OF MY CAP WHEN THE CABLES BOTH BROKE AND SENT ME FLYING TO THE GROUND. I WAS VERY LUCKY AND ONLY TWISTED MY BACK A LITTLE BUT IT HURT. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE CABLES THEY WERE BOTH RUSTED COMPLETELY. I HAVE OWNED 3 BLAZERS AND THEIR SYSTEM FOR THE TAILGATE WAS GREAT. NEVER A PROBLEM. GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD REPAIR THIS FOR ALL OF US S10 DRIVERS. RIGHT NOW I HAVE PARACHUTE CORD HOLDING UP MY TAILGATE. *JB
