My vovlo s70 1998 lost power going 40mph and then will start right back up. Our 2001 S80 2.9 has twice lost all battery power to the car, just after turning off the ignition key. The time between occurrence is within 2 weeks. It has dumped the time on the clock, no power to anything, as if the battery had been removed. There have been so many problems since I purchased my 2005 xc90 in October 2010 that I don't know where to start. I too had a transmission problem two weeks after I purchased my vehicle with 119,000 miles. Resulting in having to purchasing a Volvo XC90 2010 Lost all power and electrics. Engine cut out. Happened whilst on a motorway. Very serious safety issue. I've replaced the power steering pump however the car is still hard to turn, they wont inspect it.
