Volvo S80 2004, under 60,000 miles, serviced only at ...

Volvo S80 2004, under 60,000 miles, serviced only at dealer from whom purchased.   Ignition key and steering wheel lock. can no longer drive auto.    Researched problem and found that it is not uncommon on this Volvo S80 - 200r.   Is manufacturer responsible as this is clearly a manufacturing defect????

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE RADIATOR FAN TO START WORKING?

I have Volvo S80 2010 and the fan revs after the car has been shut off. Usually after mountain driving. If I restart the engine it usually stops immediately. Leads me to believe that it's an electrical glitch not a high engine temperature problem.

Our 2001 S80 2.9 has twice lost all battery power to the car, just after turning off the ignition key. The time between occurrence is within 2 weeks.  It has dumped the time on the clock, no power to anything, as if the battery had been removed.
