2006 S60 Volvo
Last October (2011)I broke down in NJ-transmission replaced at 80,000 miles-$6400
The car has stalled at least 6 times-four times in dangerous highway traffic
The first time it stalled, several years ago I was on my way to a dr near NY-driving toward an overpass-almost had an accident. I thought perhaps I did something to cause it but not realize this would be a reoccurring problem.
June 15-car stalled in a parking lot-had it towed- The fuel sensor wasreplaced for $370
July 11th-stalled again while coming back from a dr near NY city with my disabled son-had the car towed 30 miles. rode in the tow truck
Tow-$150
-Had the fuel pump replaced-$650
Car stalled again July 21st on my way back from the drs with my 86 year old mother with a serious heart condition. It was close to 100 degrees-if it had happened a few miles earlier on route 57 it would have quickly turned into a serious situation.
It is in the shop again....they want to replace the "Fuel pump control module" and some kind of harness....for another $800. (!)
Have read many similar stories-stalling on highways-near accidents-pouring money into the problem.
I do not/will not trust the car again-cannot have an unsafe car while transporting sick people to drs in two states. Where do I begin...with Volvo?
