Our 2004 Sienna just had its 90K mile service. The entire rack and pinion system needs replacing, the water pump, and the transmission pan. The thing that kills me is during our 90K mile servcie on our Toyota Avalon 2 years ago - the rack and pinion also needed replaced and ball bearings and the transmission pans. In both cases our 90K mile service has turned into a 3,000 dollar service with the same type of issues. We have had 2 Hondas with the same mileage that had very few issues. When it happened in the Avalon we got a 2nd opinion from a non-Toyota dealer and they said the same things were wrong, and how odd it was that so much needed replaced in a Toyota with only 90K miles. Now it has happened again? Has anyone else had issues with their Toyota rack and pinions or transmission pans? I am not buying a Toyota ever again, I will tell you that much. I was hopeful about the Sienna because it is so well reviewed and hasn't been involved in thd major recalls that many other Toyota cars have been involved with.
